To be honest anything worth more than £6-£7 I'd been sending via a Tracked service.soolin said:Just an update as I know a lot of people were panicking about waiting 'weeks' for their money.
I sent something on the 12th as a standard 2nd class large letter @£1.55 , it shows as delivered when I open the 'tracking' and in my balance it shows "Pending – in eBay balance 16 Feb" . So that will be 4 days in total - which is a lot faster than most other sites I use and I don't think unreasonable. I do still have other things, including 2 RM48 items not yet showing as delivered , so will see how they go.
Interestingly, I have 2 other LLs sent at same time that also show as delivered but haven't made it to an update in my balance as yet.0 -
I've sold a few items now and caught this all kicking in last weekend for me as some items fell one side of the divide and some the other.I have been wary of buying postage through eBay as last time I did, I had an item go AWOL and the postage intermediary we less use than a sieve for transporting water.I'm not in a hurry for the money as selling to clear out items but the ones with tracking do seem to clear quite quickly once status is changed to delivered. The new system does seem okay if you send parcels or higher value items but I imagine could prove infuriating if you sell flat high volume items under £20.May you find your sister soon Helli.

When I add the tracking to the correct part of the sale page after buying an RM label (which I had to do when ebay postage went down for a while just before Christmas) It automatically updated when item was delivered. So adding the delivery/tracking details in the tracking box is just the same as buying the label from ebay.savergrant said:
My point is that @girlchops is being given a reference number when posting the item and is entering that as the tracking number on eBay. I'm not sure ebay will be able to tell when the item has been delivered from that.soolin said:
apologies, I realise in some of my posts I used the wrong terminology. All ebay need is proof of delivery- and if you use ebay labels even standard parcels and Large letters show delivery in about 90% of the time. I was wrong to use the term tracking when I meant proof of delivery.savergrant said:
If that number is enough for ebay to issue a green tick when it's delivered then you will get paid two days after the tick. But I'm not sure a 'reference number' is the same as a tracking number.girlchops said:when sending with Royal Mail do we have to use Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 in order to get paid upon delivery or can we continue to use signed for and small parcel service that provides a reference number. Until now i was using Royal Mail standard parcel service which gave a reference number i could enter into eBays tracking number field when item was dispatched. Will that still be sufficient? or will using standard parcel services or signed for continue the 14 day hold of funds even if item is delivered? Apologies if this has already been covered but i couldn't find it.
Even with RM or PO labels standard parcels have a delivery code, and I noticed that my large letters for non ebay sales when I buy online from RM also have a delivery code now. Basically then it's just LLs paid for at the PO and letters generally that have no delivery code.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I sold something last week, bought Tracked48 postage direct from Royal Mail, entered the tracking number in eBay and it is available to withdraw as tracking shows delivered.janb5 said:It looks as though I will wait two weeks for payment because I use RM48 but via RM and not via Ebay. Their underlying message is to use their system or wait 14 days. Ah well! I sell a lot of knitting patterns and these aren`t tracked so I will have to wait a fortnight for payment too.

I've been using RM48 via the post office, and payment has been within 4-5 days from postage. Our post office is open until 9pm so I tend to post late evening, but seems quite a seamless process so far.janb5 said:It looks as though I will wait two weeks for payment because I use RM48 but via RM and not via Ebay. But was that using the 'standard parcel' service? Because I don't see how an untracked service can provide you with a tracking number. My understanding is that is simply a reference in the event of making a claim latersoolin said:

It doesn’t need to be tracked, all standard parcels have delivery confirmation , you get a ‘number’ which RM refer to as a tracking number but isn’t , it just shows when item has been delivered. Even my large letters have them. That number can be added under the tracking area and will update on delivery.savergrant said:

I don’t want to do a screen shot in case I can’t wipe any identifiable info , but one of my large letters sent on Wednesday shows this when I click to view tracking
Delivered
14 Feb
Great. Your order was delivered
the tracking number looks like this (I have replaced a couple of numbers with Xs. XX01AA2D494
Incidentally that was a large letter 2nd class under 100g that cost me £1.55. My standard parcels at £3.25 are the same.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. So presumably if you can scan the barcode on a new barcoded stamp that would be sufficient. However as I'm using up old special issue stamps I'm not going to get it (I did wonder if putting a 1p barcoded stamp on would help!)soolin said:I don’t want to do a screen shot in case I can’t wipe any identifiable info , but one of my large letters sent on Wednesday shows this when I click to view trackingDelivered

I’m not sure that would be possible as you would need a physical number to add to the eBay listing. It’s not a QR code that we can read.savergrant said:
