@doingitanyway me too, luckily! And even more so since I've seen how much easier they are to keep clean.
This will be the third lot of kitchen flooring in the 5y I've been here, so worth saving up and getting it right this time.

We had all our floors bar the stairs and landing replaced with hard flooring as I got so fed up of replacing the carpets goodness knows how many times. Our kitchen floor is hard to keep clean due to patio doors leading onto the garden so I’m interested in seeing how you go with the tiles.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

That sounds similar to my conservatory which is between my kitchen and garden, the tiles in there are quite old but still in near perfect condition and clean so easily.
The quote for fitting was £960 and tiles are going to be between £400 and £800. Let's say around £1600. I have £200 saved in the house fund so we might be waiting quite a while!

I have floor tiles in our kitchen and I'm a total convert. I was worried it would be super cold in winter (no underfloor heating) but everyone seems to cope and I just wear slippers 😆

  • I also have tiles in my kitchen, easy to keep clean just hoover and mop with flash, mine are a light beige colour so every now and then they get a scrub with a bleach solution and come up sparkling. We also just wear slippers and i have a dirt grabber runner mat next to the back door that can just be chucked in the washing machine. All nice and easy.

I was up early today (for me), volunteering at parkrun. Refilled my empty screen wash. Then went and got dog food and some nice food for the weekend to make up for not being out, with friends, at a festival, or anywhere remotely fun.
My neighbours are out for the day which means I've got uninterrupted time in the garden on a dry and sunny day. I need to figure out how to spend it in the wisest way, without tiring myself out too much as I'm already low on energy and brain foggy.
I'm going to have a sit down on the sofa, read some posts, have some food, and make a rough plan.
I used to enjoy having friends call in and I just haven't felt able to do that in this house (not just because I'm quite far away), so I think that's one of my goals for next year.

Sometimes it's ok to give yourself permission to just chill and take care of yourself xx

@LzzyIsGod I think that's the main goal for today.
Yesterday I painted my metal gates and railings. It was the perfect task, music on, sun shining, mindless painting, no need to be neat or careful. It was also a job I'd been meaning to do for years so felt like quite an achievement.
There's still a little bit to do but I ran out of paint.

It's always frustrating running out when you're half way through a job! I hope you put your feet up today - it was definitely much cooler weather here today so you picked the right weekend day for gardening and pottering yesterday
