@Middle_Aged_Guy you don't get to hear the tantrums and swear words in between though 🤣
@doingitanyway I think the smell of it cooking really helps soothe the soul. And I know I've got the basis of meals for the next few days too. My cabbage carrot chive kohlrabi lemon pepper coleslaw was delicious so might have that again tomorrow.Debts 04/01/25 02/08/25

I got a kohlrabi in my veg box and was wondering what to do with it...now I knowIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

They're one of my favourite vegetables to grow @doingitanyway! I had a purple one with yellow courgette in fritters yesterday, and a green one in the coleslaw today. There's lots you can do with them. I hope you enjoy the weird looking thing 😄

I'm with you on the back to back meetings! I've got a day like it today. Well done on upping the payments, I can't bear silly odd amounts either
I haven't had kohlrabi since I was a child. My parents used to grow it and I really liked it. It never seems to be in the shops."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -

I think that's why I like growing it so much @jwil, you can't get it in the shop so it feels fancy!
I am having a nightmare with banks this week! First Ll insisting I didn't need to make a minimum payment this week (never actually got to the bottom of that or receive a statement) and now naffwest wouldn't let me set up a DD for the minimum payments from my Ll account through the app. When I went on the chat to ask them to do it for me they were absolutely useless, took hours between replies then said they were ending the conversation as I hadn't replied promptly (I was driving and in work), and finally they said they had set it up for me. Buuuuutttttt I hadn't given them any bank details. I pointed that out and they said they didn't need bank details. Soooo you don't need to know where the money is coming from? Apparently not.
I gritted my teeth and asked them to please confirm where the DD had been set up to come from. They told me the account number and it was an old one I had when I took out my first CC with them. Exasperated wasn't the word. I told them that account was closed and pointed out they should probably have checked before setting it up. They then wouldn't set it up from the Ll account and instead asked me if I wanted to raise a complaint. All this took around 18 hours.
So I still don't have DDs set up to pay any of those three credit cards from two banks.

In slightly happier news, I have lost 35 pounds in weight since my heaviest. That's about 19 months, so quite slowly, but I'm still very happy about it. I am very much an emotional eater so I really think changing jobs, doing less, and getting on top of my health and finances has definitely helped.
I'm the lightest I've been since before the pandemic!Debts 04/01/25 02/08/25

How frustrating with the banks 😖
Well done on the weight loss. Better to lose it slowly as it’s more likely to stay off as you’re changing your habits over time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
That's an incredible achievement @rachmac3. You are smashing life right now with both reducing debt and weight loss!2

Absolutely raise a complaint, what a farce.
Well done for making progress in getting this all sorted even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment!2
