My payslip came through today (it comes a few days before the pay) so I can start doing my planning this evening. I have to pay for quite a few extras this month (tyres, medication, car tax)and I'm going on holiday (pet sitter etc). I think it's going to be vey tight!!!
I don't have a suitcase as I haven't had a holiday for a long time and if I go anywhere I just take a backpack. My back doesn't like suitcases on wheels usually (except the 4 wheels multi direction and height adjustable ones). I found a rucksack I liked the look of, where the straps zip away so they don't get snagged in the airport and it has a cross body strap option too. It had sold out this morning so I've spent a frantic hour looking for similar before eventually hunting one down. I've had to borrow money out of the emergency fund to get it. Not ideal but better than a credit card.

  • I do love the great monthly money shuffle!  It’s always good to have a plan for the month ahead.  Something I never really did till I started talking my finances seriously.

You’ve totally given me the holiday bug.  Too much choice and temptation out there.

I do like this mindset of month starting on the 1st of the month - I'm going to adopt that this month!

I think everytime you look at the pink shed you should sing Pink Pony Club in your head 🤣 maybe you should make it a WoMan Cave!!

It's pretty new for me @Chocolatefund but it worked well last month.
@LzzyIsGod the idea was actually from a song, because I don't have a drainpipe I can paint (My Pink Half of the Drainpipe). My uncle put the idea in my head at my aunt's funeral. Most of my family are huge music fans and some have bizarre tastes!

I really wish I hadn't started my planning before bed. As thought, I don't have enough for this month. I need 2 new tyres but if I only get one (and get it for £60) I can take £80 on holiday with me for 8 days of food drink travel etc. One tyre seems silly. £10 a day for holiday seems unlikely (but it's my £10 a day allowance I've given myself in the UK, I have no wages left for actual spending money). That's also if I don't buy my brother or nieces birthday presents, and if I can postpone the vet visit til September payday.
I did not sleep well! I did my (quite common) panic/rant of "I can't live like this any longer".
I've told myself it's probably not that bad and I can have another look, including checking all the bill amounts, later tonight with a glass of wine. Best I get to work now though or I'll be trying to manage on even less.
