Correct, the flurry of activity often precedes the N279 discontinuation document by email in your inbox or spam folder, before the hearing fee date looms large, like this one

However, it wont be DCBL contacting you ( debt collectors ) , it will be DCB LEGAL LTD contacting you, different entities ( not the same, despite similar initials and despite being a part of the overall business )2 -
Get ready to post a pic of the attached NoD when it arrives by email. We want to count it!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, you're right. Was a bit startled that they were contacting me tbh as we've obviously got a court date so wasn't expecting any contact by phone beforehandGr1pr said:

Looking forward to doing so!Coupon-mad said:Get ready to post a pic of the attached NoD when it arrives by email. We want to count it!

Hi everyone, hope you're all well
Does anyone one know when the discontinuation notice is usually sent? I have a court date and it now falls on a fairly inconvenient day. Should I look to try and get it moved just in case it doesn't come through? Its due in about 7/8 weeks?
I've looked at other cases and seems that they are usually discontinued soon after the letter offer £60 (which I received a while ago) and while I thought that dcbl didn't take people to court, have seen at least one case where they did, so am wondering if I'm going to be one of the unlucky ones that has to attend?

Its not DCBL, its DCB LEGAL
Its up to the private parking company if the hearing fee is paid, r not, so that is your deadline date for the N279 discontinuation email, so what is that crucial date ?

Oops… I keep that wrong
27 Feb. About 3 weeks away. I just looked and saw another case that was discontinued close to the court date, so I guess it varies, possibly depending on the client?

Anyone who reads a few of the 770 examples linked in Umkomaas' discontinuances thread can see when it happens. No need to ask us!

Ok cool, Will check it out. I've looked at a few and they seemed to be a lot of variation. Might just be the ones I looked at
Thanks

Good news everyone!!!
I rang the court today as I had gotten a bit confused regarding the witness statements as I thought I had to it in 28 days prior to the court hearing, but on rereading the court papers, realised that there was another date in Oct 2025 that I should have handed it in by. I rang the court number for some advice and they said that it has been discontinued (apparently in October)
I've checked my emails and couldn't see any discontinuance email (hence my panicked previous recent posts) but the person on the phone said that it was all "done and dusted" and the hearing has been cancelled
Thank you so much everyone that has taken the time to help, especially @Gr1pr and @Coupon-mad. It really is appreciated!!! :)I want to contribute to the discontinuance thread, so who do I need to speak to to get it in writing?

Email DCB LEGAL and demand a copy of the N279 discontinuation document in response
Then post a redacted picture of the N279 document
