Standard procedure. They discontinue before they have to pay the hearing fee.

I've added more ideas for the Public Consultation which should help, if you didn't yet submit it. Closes on Friday!

See the updates in the first post of the thread here:

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Ok a quick update:

    1. I now have a court date in the new year
    2. I have had an offer of a much reduced fee emailed to me, payable within 7 days. I declined
    3. I have also had the dcbl office ring me asking to discuss my case.  I declined and said I was busy

I assume the last two are just 'Last throw of the dice' tactics before they throw the towel in, or possible to get my to incriminate myself on a recorded call?

They said they would be calling again so I assume that I say nothing and decline to engage?

Correct,  the flurry of activity often precedes the N279 discontinuation document by email in your inbox or spam folder,  before the hearing fee date looms large, like this one

However,  it wont be DCBL contacting you   ( debt collectors   ) , it will be DCB LEGAL LTD contacting you,  different entities  ( not the same,  despite similar initials and despite being a part of the overall business   )

Get ready to post a pic of the attached NoD when it arrives by email. We want to count it!

Yes, you're right.  Was a bit startled that they were contacting me tbh as we've obviously got a court date so wasn't expecting any contact by phone beforehand

    Looking forward to doing so!

Thanks again as ever for all the help and support so far
