So slept better last night and I wonder if it’s because I decided to stay in present job, decided to do 4 day weeks for a bit and re evaluate it in a few months, feel I can’t give up my role as it’s so flexible, I work a bit in community, bit at home and one day a week in the office and I’m pretty autonomous in my role. Just don’t think i could go back to being junior staff member, also I can’t really justify a cut in wages at this stage in my life, i should be saving hard for retirement not taking my foot off the pedal 😳
furthermore i am due a £900 bonus in September and that would be really good in savings or a bit off mortgage/bit saved
so it’s decided!
1/2 day today so I’m off for a walk in a bit as the sun is shining and it’s just beautiful 🤩
had to buy daughter a couple of b-day gift today so £0 spending not really an option todayMortgage total 57980 June 26

So this month is my busy month,
London half marathon coming up this weekend so the budget will take a bit of a hammering for the next few Saturdays.
I have a show and Twickenham rugby outing so we shall see if there is any money left this month.
May should be better, even though I have a holiday, I’ve saved and have holiday spends put away in chase so apart from that May should be good, flying from local airport too so hardly any expenses to that.
have all my holiday clothes too so won’t be purchasing anything new.
32 days to go, can’t wait!
over paid a bit of mortgage so interest has reduced a bit, hopefully after May I will be able to pay off another 10%

Had the weekend from hell In London, ended up in A&E with severe reflux then the following day had to go in as I had an allergic reaction, lips swelling, I had a steroid then managed to get home before it was too late.
Really tired this week though after all the drama and I’ve completely changed my eating, smaller meals and less fat.
good for waistline and wallet as the reflux episode had seriously put me off eating out.
I am going to try just going out for meals birthdays and anniversaries as I spend way too much £ on food out.
i got my £50 payout from Nation wide bank, actually got 2 lots, think they have made a mistake on that so moved £40 over to my holiday spending fund( £1200 target reached)
paid £10 of it towards PayPal holiday, owe £270 now so chipping that away too.left £50 in there in case they take it back.
i can only can pay another £400 off mortgage but might not manage that before May as i have holiday to pay for first.
mind you not going out will seriously increase £ left over.
i am happy with overpayments this year so far!
good news about in laws house sale, survey didn’t throw up any major concerns so hopefully that will keep moving forward.
got to get up now, work today
just 2 more days til weekend 👍😊Mortgage total 57980 June 26

So just when you think things are looking up you get a letter saying that you owe your payroll money, at the time I thought I’d put some £ in an account as I thought It was a lot, now it seems I’ve been dipping into that and it’s gone, they suggested 3 payments of £350ish and I have suggested 10 as £350/mth out of wages is harsh! It’s their fault ultimately, i don’t know how much stat sick pay I was owed. It’s so painful when they get things wrong, anyway hopefully they will accept terms I’ve suggested, it is a pain they now take it direct from wages as I’d overpay if i could do it myself, anyway hopefully May we be a cheaper month as I am not going out hardly, I’ve saved for daughter’s birthday already so that’s in hand.
my reflux is almost non existent if I keep my diet healthy.
took a bit more off holiday, £250 owed now.
hopefully this months wages will be okMortgage total 57980 June 26

Had to buy fence paint today but found a cheaper deal in Wicks, b&q was more expensive and they didn’t have large tubs, would have cost £40 compared to £20 in Wicks.
Have been painting fence this morning, we have managed to pull them out between concrete posts and paint both sides before putting them back. Just got another 15 to go 😳
luckily they are half size the next ones, this is the year to sort the gardenMortgage total 57980 June 26

20 days till holiday, I’m on the count down 😛
today I will be cleaning and hubby is over his parents clearing their loft as the house sold.
just waiting for the glitch that always comes when selling.
there is no chain and the lady is a cash buyer so it should be straight forward but as we all know, that is rarely the case.
7days left of this months budget
my budget app says I have £799 left
but hubby needs petrol £35 and we have groceries on Friday £80
london trip Saturday £?

6 days of budget, £721 left
hubby bought petrol today
working all day tomorrow so budget should be good, got lazer and day off Wednesday but that’s paid so this week shouldn’t be expensive.
its the weekend that will make a dent on finances as my daughter and I will go to London for the day and i have to buy groceries this week too, hoping to have &500 left over, we shall see?
that also depends if they take the overpayment from my wages this month for May 1st or if that will be from May payday.
I cancelled the request to pay it back over 10 months, decided to man up and payback over 3 months, get it over and done with quickly 😳 that will impact a bit but I’ll just have to be even more careful.
definitely reduced spending on eating out this last week.
paid a bit more off holiday: £200 balance now 😊
also reduced my octopus d/d to £50/mth as presently i have a £600 credit and im breaking even with agile and solar generation.Mortgage total 57980 June 26

Just had a read through and you’re doing really well. Just keep chipping away. I had reflux during and post pregnancy, which then shifted to gallbladder. A couple of years later the reflux is back 🙈 so if you can save money and avoid that pain, it’s a win-win!You’ve got me dreaming of holidays now..
