Hi, it’s been ages since I logged in.
struggling with insomnia and job is stressful!
trying to get reasonable adjustments, either HW or reduced hours for a bit.
sourced some melatonin privately and tried it last night. It definitely helped to quiet the thoughts.
Trying sleep yoga as well which is good.
Anyway, finances are ok  but garage doors have gone wrong 😑 double electric doors =£700 to make right.
I’m doing really well with household budget.
I’m making meals that last 2 days and freezing left overs.
work provides fruit so when I’m in I take advantage of fruit provided.
weekends are a bit rubbish as they have run out by then.
I am meeting a friend today so will buy some lunch but I’ve had such a good week that i deserve it.
I am lucky that my petrol costs have halved a month as husbands new job is closer as is mine. When I get HW that will reduce further too so I am going to apply for that today.
Have put garage doors on hold until new year, will just struggle on with them not closing properly, if i leave plenty of time i can manually close the last bit if needed.
i always park on drive if im in work early and park in garage on a late as I’ve got lots of time.
Hubby  sorted washing machine out as that wasn’t draining, thought we might need new one. Hey presto he opened filter and found several of my cloth makeup pads stuck in there 😕
I have learned my lesson, bought wash bag for make up pads so they don’t migrate again.
Temu does cheap ones that are great.
I don’t dare say this month is looking ok as something is bound to happen!
hubby did have some one hit his car but they took full accountability for it so hopefully that won’t cost us.He wasn’t in car at the time luckily.
have a planned trip to London next weekend, that’s mostly paid for as daughter bought us a meal and we’ve paid for theatre and hotel in advance, staying in a premier inn hub, probably tiny but we are just sleeping one night and it’s cheaper.
as i work most weekends it will be lovely to spend some time with hubby.
I will take some lunch with me so I can cut a bit off spending.

So I’ve been baking, I added sunflower seeds to these and they are beautiful. Put most in freezer so I don’t eat them all, enough for week.
made fish pie with some dumpling type pasty I made.
i bought a large bag of frozen white fish and it’s been so good, I’ve got 3 meals out of the bag as they had loads of fillets in.
because there is just the 2 of us I have enough for my dinner today.
I am at work 2-10 today so i will have that before i go and take salad for later.
trying to see if i can avoid shopping this week as i should have enough to see us through. I like my late week because i can get organised.
trying hard to stick to meal plan and not do any impulse buying.
definitely cheaper since my daughter has left for her 9mth contract and my job has less AL, which actually saves me ££
im starting to feel better about job. I have made a friend there and that is helping as she is new too and we help each other.
so all good here so far!
Planning on adding the final amount to my mortgage OP wannabe so I meet my target for this year. That will be payday, excited to do that, it will be weird not OP anymore until July.
Will then work on getting rid of 0% card and saving.
next month one of the 0% cards £250 is due to be paid off 🥳🥳

Got a few days off coming up
in December, so i have to make a decision what I’m doing so i use my time productively.
paint bathroom ceiling or paint boot room.
boot room needs a good clear out and clean so that is probably the better choice, not sure I’m motivated enough but I might be nearing time.
I have loads of white paint left over as well purchased 2 large tubs a few months back so it won’t cost anything, just my labour😛
looking forward to my weekend away , just got to get through 2 back to back late shifts which I hate. Just hate hanging around til 2 pm start , it will be better once i can work from home but that’s a couple months off.
was gonna run over to collect my prescription but the weather is horrible so I’ll drive over.
I don’t mind cold and bright skies but this grey wet is not on!!
Gonna have to do some weights or home exercise instead today as I’ve no plans, just laying around, really need to get up. Was on a late yesterday, really saps my energy.
unfortunately i have to pay for 1 of my items so not quite a £0 spend today.
    but that’s all I’m spending.
visa is made up 21st so im trying to not spend anymore until then.
we do have some food although my husband bought some mince which I will use for spag bog but it’s hilariously small, I’ll have to post a picture. It will need bulking up with veg for sure. I have some frozen mushrooms I can use up and I’ll add carrots and anything else that can be blitzed.

  • Well done you've bulked it up nicely.

l must confess l absolutely hate the new mincemeat packaging 😣, l really struggle to convert it from one slab into tiny pieces again. Mr CK says l need more upper body strength 😂  The only place l know of with "normal packaging" is Tesco's so l only buy mincemeat from them now.

Your comments about exercise also resonate with me. I have a gym membership and was enjoying going but the last 3 months have been shocking (l did pull my back which wrote me off for a few weeks but still). Truth is l think we need the endorphins exercise gives us even more in the winter. l hope you got chance to do your workout

So I’ve just paid off £250 off 2nd 0% card so balance is £0
    feels good!
when I get paid Friday i will make the final payment into the mortgage for the year, I’m aiming for enough to make it up to the planned OP for the year, approximately £170 ish, will make final calculation Friday. Need to make sure I don’t go over 10% allowance.
Good news..hubby’s parents house is actually moving, the people at bottom of chain have mortgage now and are doing searches so we are hoping it should be done by new year 🤞🤞
we have just kinda forgotten about it to save us stress but we have been paying council tax for last month and will continue to do so until it sells which pisses me off.
my mum and dad live in NZ and they move within weeks compared to here.

Thanks, I had a nice run walk, I’ve found setting small goals works and run/walk is better than nothing, definitely helps my mood for sure!
