I have a new job which I’m really happy about, I had to take full time but the plan it to do 6 months then put in a flexible working request, usually not a problem. Of course i now have another interview after a drought, and after about 9 rejections at application. This is typical!
if I get it I will need to weigh up pros and cons.
my interview is next week so at least I won’t have long to wait and I’m sure recruitment is slow over Christmas.
Anyway, more promising news, the buyer at bottom of chain has transferred money to their seller, which is a bit weird as completion is next week, hopeful that means it will go through and my husband will have less stress.
he also got a promotion at work so that was lovely as he works really hard so it’s deserving.
money wise I bought a new mattress as ours was terrible so owe klarna £550
    paid £50 today so that’s £500 left.
aim to overpay but it’s 0% so all good.
    Aim to OP KLARNA
    AIM TO OP 0% CC
small mortgage op as only £108 left to pay from now to May 26

So at long last my hubbys parents house has sold.
got to pay bills and estate agent solicitors etc so will see what is left for retirement investment.
now my hubbys parents house has sold him and his sister can get some closure and not have to keep visiting house.
I have a feeling that they will find this Christmas hard 😢

So it all went through , hubby feels a lot better as I think it was a weight off his mind but sad still as it’s the final tie broken.

change of subject now, after having so many rejections it’s now getting ridiculous and i have a further 3 interviews.
1 I’m going to decline as i think it’s taking me back into the realm of childrens nursing and I’m trying to go into adult areas, one is my dream job so definitely going for that and the other one is a local community job. I also want something to see my through the next 9 years and I don’t think i could do that for 9 years.
the upside is if I get the community one it will give me experience to then go for dream dermatology nurse role in future so it’s all in the plan.
    Anyway Dermatology nurse is tomorrow
and the community one is 23rd which is a bit horrible timing wise but I’ll go for it anyway, the children continence one that I’m going to withdraw from is also on 23rd so a bit much.

got a busy day today, overtime training 10-1 then racing to meet friend for coffee then running into city to get bank statement as they don’t allow printed copies , not sure what employees do if they haven’t got a bank. It’s really hard to just get a paper statement sent In Time.
Trying now to find ISA as hubby says i should have some £ for tax purposes.
wondering wether to lock it away for a few years
as I’m not sure interest rates will go up to what they were.

So i have paid £5k visa, i know it was 0% but i could not be faffed with getting a new card and it’s nice not having payments per month.
paid Klarna too so no more payments and I had about 2k student loan 1, which will get paid off in my lifetime so worth doing as i have a new full time job so have paid that.
Managed to open monument account so getting 4.5% on savings, unfortunately hubby was not as quick so he’s had to go for an account paying slightly lower.
unfortunately, for some reason I put £4k in daughters LISA April, so have to wait until April to add more 🙄

    Anyway… I’ve had a roller coaster week
    News about my dream job…
I interviewed and I thought it went well, one question I knew I’d nailed due to nodding of heads, you know when you have them.
however, one question i know but did not answer right. Always the way, it comes to me later and i think damn it!!
anyway, I had to call him as he leaves message on phone, it’s a no, said I came 2nd, great 🙄 glad i didn’t get call before work.
Anyway….I go for run later on then find he’s called again???
I call back and he says he went home and thought how well I’d done, but then he  said my recent job hopping scored me down, not mentioned that before.
He wanted assurances that wouldn’t be a pattern with me.
however then he said obviously if you hate it you don’t have to stay 😛
i also got an opportunity to answer the question I got wrong which was nice and exactly what i should have said on day but no one’s perfect eh??
Anyway I’ve scored my dream job 🤞🤞
    checks pending 🤞
because he changed his mind makes me bit nervous until I get official offer.
Monday to Friday, 10hr shifts so I work 4 days a week and because I’m working Christmas this year the next bonus is no BH ever again!!!!
please if I want to leave this job just remind me of these things as I must break this job hopping pattern as it will make me unemployable.

    Happy new year all
my hubby and I have sorted our ISA’s out and I plan on paying car off with some of inheritance, most of it has been put in savings.
i plan to pay it off with Tesco visa to get points and to keep savings in ac a few days later to maximise interest.
we are planning to visit daughter in Fort lauderdale in March so will spend a bit for that but otherwise not much has changed, old habits die hard and I want to protect as much as I can for retirement as my husband only has a small pension provision. We definitely need to get some financial advice as he had 2 pensions with same provider and 1 was private the other a works one. He now has a different pension plan for his new job so it’s all a bit messy.
there must be 2 lots of charges, will it be better to have just one pension?
Anyway, definitely need to see someone re pension and if it’s worth putting £ in there??
