ohhh Welsh Rarebit not had that in ages. I'm finding parts of me that got lost with my ex (PPH in my diary) and eating that was one of them I made it with a splash of Worcester sauce and a bit of small chopped apple.
That is now a treat for the next few days plannedMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Local bistro adds leeks to their Welsh rarebit. Keep meaning to try it at home.4

Glad that it wasn't just me that worried about the Welsh rabbits. When we were children my older brother told me that horseradish sauce was made of minced horses and radishes 😫. It took me a few years to discover that wasn't the case,
@annieb64 - how about trying the leeky version on one of our cosy Fridays?

The cat has embraced the concept of cosy Friday and made an early start! Might be an issue when I try to share "my" blanket with him later.3 -
Relax and rest! Claim the sofa blanket early and don't move for the rest of the day.

That looks like one of the cats I used to have. BlackCats used to be my name on another forum. I have had 6 black cats over the years.🤩3

I think this is such a lovely idea.
I am pondering how I can make my Friday evening a cosy one - I am babysitting for a friend's dog this weekend and whilst she is lovely she is TOTALLY high maintenance and not at all like my chilled out pooch! I think I will walk the pair of them when I finish work and make myself bubble and squeak with sausages for supper - love Welsh Rarebit but cheese is a no no for me sadly (definitely wouldn't be a cosy evening if I ate cheese).
I'll read my book and decompress after a busy old week.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I am having a friend over this afternoon. I have defrosted my last 'fat rascal' scone from Betty's for us to share and I am going to make a pot of apple strudel tea (spiced apple fruit infusion with lots of cinnamon). Also I'm going to add a degree to the thermostat
Then once she's gone I'll put the thermostat back down and get under my nice cosy heated blanket to catch up on my aviation podcast (OK that last part is not technically very cosy).3 -
I do love a Bettys Fat Rascal @Cairnpapple, never found a decent recipe for them.
The wood burner is on (and the prime spots occupied by cats) and I have vague plans for a butternut squash risotto as comfort food. I intend to try and do a bit more of my jigsaw in front of the fire this evening, subject to the consent of the baby black cat.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Cheese for Fredagsmys dinner has been got, after a traipse around the shops as aldo was being cheeky only having pricey brie out!
And am wearing a delicate gold chain that's very pretty but a bit short for comfort when worn around the neck, on my wrist wrapped around twice, as my 'make an effort to wear something underappreciated'
