Well, £89 later 😞, I now have a suit jacket and trousers for the interview and the trousers on their own will be ok for normal workdays if I can get some suitable (cheap!) tops to go with them. I did try on a shirt but it was not great so I thought I’d come home and see if I can get away with one of my tops that I currently own. I know they are all too small but the jacket will cover most of it so there might be something I can get away with. 🤞

But first a coffee, then a mad dash clean as I have an online exam at 3pm. 🤦‍♀️ The only place I can take it is in dd2’s bedroom as it needs to be near the modem for a good signal but with only one door to the room. I then need to cover all the bookcases and move some furniture around and double check the laptop still works ok. I did a practice mock yesterday on it but the thought of the technology not working always stresses me out after my first experience of remote exams was a complete disaster tech wise. With 10minutes to spare I had three different laptops out all with different issues as to why they wouldn’t work and I was losing the plot. I still passed the exam (just), but my brain was total mush and I promised myself, never again. I wouldn’t be sitting this one now if it wasn’t for the fact that work paid for it almost a year ago and I know one of the first questions they are likely to ask is if I actually sat the exam and are now a qualified Scrum Master (the job I currently do on a daily basis! 🤦‍♀️). Who cares if I have past the exam if I can do the job right? I wish. So I thought I best book the exam so I can answer that question positively at least.  I best pass it now!

  • I try to buy two bottoms for every suit jacket I buy. Otherwise, the jackets still look new,the bottoms get shabby and colour matching is a nightmare. It’s also more mse for me

How are the dogs finding the Tails food?

We tried it once and I ended up giving it away as my dog refused to it eat and when he tried it he absolutely stank (I guess it's a good thing he didn't like it 😂)

Funny you should say that. Big dog seems to hesitate when I give it to him which I found really odd as he eats anything. Little dog started repeatedly being sick but I wasn’t sure if it was a coincidence. I wont be buying it again and I wouldn’t recommend it.

    Thanks!

Office wear will definitely be purchased through Vinted, I just didn’t have the time to wait for the interview stuff.

Well the exam was a complete bust. I never got to actually sit it due to technical issues and now they are going to charge me for rescheduling. More than a bit annoying but I guess saying I haven’t passed yet for technical reasons is better than saying that I have failed or not tried. I am just trying to remain positive.

That was a super-stressful day, the fact you got through it and can still string a sentence together shows you are good in a crisis, can prioritise and think on your feet and probably lots more.

@in_need_of_direction's idea of getting two sets of trousers/skirts per jacket is very practical. Could you also have just two or three very plain tops and ring the changes with accessories? And they aren't so much an expense as an investment.

How long till you can retake the exam? Can you draw up a game plan so none of the gremlins comes out to bite you next time?

Meanwhile, I hope you can relax this evening (watch a film or something) and give yourself some recovery time.

    Thanks @Cherryfudge
I understand what you mean about the two sets of trousers but for me it never seems worth it since I literally will only use the jacket for an interview. In all honesty if I get the job I will just sell the jacket as my workplace has a much more casual dress code generally. The only time you see people in suits is for interviews, jeans and t-shirts are far more common! Even if I just use the trousers I will still look dressed up compared to most. 🤦‍♀️

The plan for retaking the exam is hopefully next Saturday. I’ve got no chance of fitting it in before the interview now and I think practicing for the questions will be a better use of time. My plan is to go visit my brother one evening this week to see if he can identify the problem and we can work out which laptop is best for it. Then on the actual day I will sit it in his house on his good internet connection. He works in IT and just knowing he has checked it all will take so much stress out of the process.
