What a horrible day for you both - I'm sure you did the right thing taking the day to support your daughter and the takeaway was the best option given that you needed to focus on her and on getting yourself through the day.
I hope sleeps pep you up again but you need to chose carefully how you spend your energy over the next few days. If you have to take a few days off sick in order to get through this, then do that. In the long term it will be better than pushing yourself too much.
I really hope things go in your daughter's favour tomorrow. A re-mark might be just what's needed - or perhaps someone will drop out of the course in a few weeks.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Commiserations... definitely a day you can allow yourself chip shop chips. It sounds as though your interview was everything it should have been and it's really hard luck that others just pipped you to the post, on another day it would have been offered to you. Don't lost track of the fact you are skilled and experienced, and - for what it's worth - that this spares you from having to adapt to a new post while your health issues are flaring up.

Ok so it turns out there were five candidates not three. The other two are actually reasonably experienced so I’m ok if either of them get it over me. I’m obviously still disappointed but I can cope so long as the person I miss out to actually deserves the job. Onwards to application number five… 🤦♀️
Anyway, the more important news is dd2 got into the courses she wanted at college. 🎉 (A level Business, Linguistics and Psychology plus AS Mathematical Studies) It took over two hours and lots of arguing but I was not taking no as an answer after this morning.
