Well, dd1 finally got her surgery yesterday. 🎉 It took a lot longer than expected but all done now and they even managed to spare her ovary so that was a huge relief! It sounds like she was super lucky too as it turns out it was twisting around her fallopian tube and cutting off the blood supply. Poor girl is absolutely wrecked but at least it is out. The thought that they were going to make her wait another 12 months is just shocking! Thank god it’s out now and fingers crossed she may even come home today! 🤞
To top it off, today is my birthday! 🤣 I have stressed to the girls that it’s ok for us all to just let this birthday go given the circumstances but I have still been banned from going downstairs until 8am so I am guessing that has been ignored. How dd2 had the energy to do anything for it after we go home from the hospital at close to 10pm I have no idea. Bless her, she is so sweet.
My plan for the day is to change dd1’s bed and clean her room so she has something nice to come home to. I want to spend some time in the garden with the dogs so they can burn off some steam - they have been super super good over the past few days and didn’t even complain yesterday despite being locked in their crates for virtually the entire day, only coming out for food, water and toilet trips. 😞 If I get the chance the only thing I would like to do for myself is go unwrap my Musa Basjo plants in the garden and see if they made it through the winter. The weather has been so mild I want to make sure they aren’t going all mushy under their mountains of straw and have everything crossed they will have kept their height and I will have glorious big banana leaves this summer. 🤞

Happy birthday! I hope the news on the op gives you a lift - how awful for you all and especially for her, having to live with that. It would be lovely if she's home today, but the main thing is she's now post-op and that should mean her life is easier.
Enjoy the time with the dogs and unwrapping your bananas! I hope they have weathered the winter well.
