I move in £1000 anyway every month for the interest on Flex Direct and do 3 debit card spends a month - 2 bananas and a carrot yesterday as there were no custard cremes for the office at Sainsbury's (35p a packet)
You do all that for £1.25 per month?
£8.33 a month is what the fair share works out as not £1.25 (it's £100 / 12, not sure how you got £1.25 out of that?) and as an unexpected bonus, £50 thank you

I also store as much as I can up to the £1500 5% interest as well which is also nice
    Whatever floats your boat  ;)

I used up the promo rate eons ago; the standard interest is 1% on up to £1500 - which works out circa £1.25 per month. The other elements aren't really FlexDirect specific.
Earning me money floats my boat yes

I get 5% interest up to £1500, I don't intend to keep any money in the account when it's expired, just bounce some money in and out every month and buy a couple of carrots to potentially qualify for the bonus.

Not my business if others want to throw away free money

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Unfortunately, as I would imagine with many MSE regulars, the FlexDirect 5% promo offer was used some time ago - consequently 'throwing away free money' isn't really applicable.

Got the £50 for taking over VM recently and hopefully the £100 in the not too distant future  :)

That's a moot point though, you asked why I do 2 minutes work a month for £1.25 and I explained I earn a lot more than that - given the £100 fair share requirements of £500 a month into the account, some direct debit or card spends and some money in savings, I'd have to do it anyway even without the £1500 5% savings
