Well, I’m not going to finish my Christmas blanket by the end of June, but its saga continues.    The wool arrived a day earlier than expected – yay!

The wool was not the right colour – boo!

I had ordered the number and colour on the band attached to the wool I was using - 1806 gingerbread,   I got 1806 gingerbread , but it was nothing like what I was using.  I don’t know how, but I must have mixed up the ball bands.   Best part is, when I went to check my brownish wool stash I discovered I had a full 100g ball of 1806 gingerbread there – and it’s still nothing like what I was using!

I gave up and chose a different, ball, in a slightly darker tone.   It won’t be touching the original one, so should be fine.

ETA – I ended up playing chicken with this ball – I finished what a needed to do, with a few feet to spare!

There’s just some surface crochet to do for this part, then on to the finishing borders.   Maybe by next weekend, although it does take a long time to get all the way round.

 

Apart from that, this month I made 5 pant liners, 10 Christmas cards and 7 birthday/general cards, all without any trauma!

 

As for July, I plan to

finish that  d*** blanket

have a go at an ’Izzy’ doll

make some more cards – get well, birthday and Christmas

make some cup cosies – the hot drinks in the paper cups at the football are SCALDING

Hello All

I have finally managed to get back to the boards. I was one of the ones having issues and no matter how many times I verified myself and changed my password I could just not get in here so I am now playing catch up. 

I will have a look through all the beautiful makes on the board probably tonight since husband is away. Phew its been a long 7 months - to the point I have put a lot of my craft stuff away because I just didnt have time for it whilst I was looking after my MIL (FIL passed in October last year) and she seems to have had a lot of projects that needed doing from before he got poorly and her son (my OH) and her daughter all seemed to be in survival mode so whilst my garden and house now look like the house has been abandoned - my 70 year old MIL can now safely use her garden, her house is being fixed up, and I appear to have turned into quite the handy woman! 

But I need to bust this craft stash and use some of it towards Xmas gifts or presents or something. 
I have given my wool to a dear friend of mine who is turning it into a scarp wool jacket for my husband (I tried and tried and tried and I just cannot get the hang of crochet or knitting) but I have got my cross stitch out which I hope to work on in the evenings.

I also brought a small hand held sewing machine for small jobs so Im hoping to use some fabric up to make some small decorations. 

So I will not be buying anything else this year unless absolutely necessary so I will set myself a small spend of £30.

Welcome back @sammy_kaye18. So sorry to hear about your FIL. Glad you now feel that you might have time for a bit of crafting. Can't wait to see some pics of your makes.
