BridgetTheCat said:Which knitting WIP should I tackle next? The dk rainbow jumper, or the honeycomb & Celtic knot Aran cable jumper? Both have roughly the same amount done, just I’m doing the rainbow in the round, and the cable in panels. The rainbow is an easier knit, but the cables are more interesting 🤔
I'd do the cable knit first as it looks more interesting from a pattern point of view, although I might be tempted to start both at once

Hello Bridget, only love in this forum! The cable and celtic knot pattern is stunning- does concentrating on the harder pattern keep you distracted from the pain? If so, crack on with that! If you think you'll feel better getting some more WIPs knocked off, do the rainbow. I love the look of the yarn for that one- what's it made out of? I often buy "nice" yarn for my mum to make me things.Make £2025 in 2025- £751.88/£2025

1. I’ve already made 2 chunky/aran jumpers this year, so I’d like to have a lighter weight dk one for the autumn
2. I’m not really happy with the honeycomb panels on the cable knit, so I’m going to frog those and try something else.
The rainbow yarn is Stylecraft special dk 100% acrylic. It’s easy to work with for knitting and crochet, there’s a massive range of colours and it’s nice and soft to wear. I get it from my local garden centre but Wool Warehouse also sell mixed packs under the ‘Attic 24’ banner.7 -
Hi Everybody - again!
I haven't found my mojo yet. I've done what I HAD to do, and not much more.
What have I completed? It might give me a boost to see that the first 6 months of the year hasn't been a total washout. Here goes:
Woollies - 2 parts of the Christmas blanket
Sewing - 3 birthday gift bags and 4 Easter gift bags
Cards - 1 sympathy card, 4 Chinese New Year cards, 1 Valentine card, 15 birthday cards, 1 St Patrick's Day card, 2 anniversary cards, 7 Easter cards, 4 new baby cards, 1 new home card, 36 Christmas cards,
Technically I did not NEED all of these cards. I always make extras when I have the stuff out - I give these extra cards away every so often.
The eagle eyed and elephant memoried among you may have noticed there are no #H4MCR. I am sorry to say I did not do any hearts this year. I had all the materials, I just didn't 'get round to it', I'm ashamed to admit.
I did start to rejig my craft room again, to see if that would help, but it's in a worse state than beforeOf course, now I can't find things. Note to self - Next steps: draw a map, mark locations, label drawers, boxes etc. Yes, it's that bad!
I need to get going again - really it's not just crafting that I've lapsed on. Other hobbies have fallen by the wayside too. There no more demands on my time than before either. I have resolved to get going from today.
I have picked up the crochet Christmas blanket that I started in November last year and I plan to have it finished by the end of the month. I've done 4 out of the 6 parts, so that leaves 2 to do in 2 weeks.
I have some more pant liners, cut out last September, to make.
I have a friend's birthday at the start of July, so I want to get that card done soon too.
Off to read what you've all been up to. If I'd done that first, I wouldn't have committed my thoughts to paper and so, I would not be accountable.
Oh, and sorry for being such a wet blanket.Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/404 -
@greentiger - you are not a wet blanket! Can understand where you are but to be fair you have completed lots of things so don’t be hard on yourself. I am like a butterfly and flit from thing to thing because I get bored quickly - maybe you need to try something completely different so it is fun again.
Maybe a craft cafe if you have one near or something to do with different craft that you can try or just leave crafting for a bit and do something for you - yoga, swimming, surf boarding etc4 -
@greentiger, you seem to have a lot of guilt around #H4MCR? If they no longer bring you joy, why are you still doing them? Could there be an alternative?
