Hi Sarah, lovely to have you along 😊 We love all and any crafts here. Please post photos if you can!!

I had an unexpected afternoon of crafting today. DH and I did some diy in DD’s bedroom this morning but I wasn’t needed after lunch. I made a cloth book cover - pattern distributed at WI last night. The fabric was fat quarters from Aldi middle aisle that I’d had a while.

    Welcome Sarah :)

Coxy your sewing is coming along really well, love the teapot cosy. Well done on the forum highlights fame, haha.

Lovely updates everyone, i've just started my mothers day card. Not done much recently, only a few crochet sealife critters using up scrap wool for a yarn bomb later in the year.

    Hi everyone,

Lovely little crocheted bits @nmm - is this for a postbox topper or similar and when is it going up? Please send photos!!

I've finished the cross stitch Jingle Bells panel and have a frame from a CS that fits it. Will need to find some backing board or similar in order to frame it for SIL/BIL Christmas gift. It's on a linen type fabric so will need pressing well to look good. Might see if the framers can cut me a mount for it if it's not too cheeky an ask.

I made a chicken out of two crocheted granny squares. Saw it on FB and thought I'd have a go. Well.....it's a bit too 'holey' a granny square, so you can see the stuffing. I'm going to look for a different 'tighter/denser' granny square as feel these could be cute to add to the Etsy shop. Only the one sale so far - one of Mum's tea cosies, and we are both still in debit, but it's early days. There is a shop set up fee and then a listing fee for each item (for 4 months listing) and when you sell an item you get charged all sorts of random fees too. Not great, but given Mum is 83 this year and isn't sure she wants to do craft fayres, this may be our only option atm.

I'm using my covered notebook for my WI committee meetings which feels apt! Will find out on Tuesday next week what April's craft will be. I won't be able to go to the crafting session as I'll be away hiking on the final leg of our JoGLE journey.  Will get my thinking cap on as to what I can make to leave along the way this time. Have previously done hearts and forget-me-nots. Might do a puffball flower this time - will experiment later today and see.

I did intend to cross stitch the MD cards this year but given both Mum and MIL pipped me off recently I bought them cards instead. It would have been good to use up my card making stash but hey ho.

    Hope everyone is doing okay

Well done @Coxy11 on the notebook cover and @nmn on the crochet creatures. So cute. Welcome @Teaparty_mum. Here’s my first TaDa of 2025. So pleased to stitch this up for my friend’s 60th. Just got to wash, dry and mount in a hoop which I already have. Depends on whether I want to cover the hoop or do fancy backing. Will see what I can find in the garage. Not sure where to go next., pick up Love Cats again for daughter and DiL or start another 60th which will take an age!

Finished the xmas card (nearly 2 weeks ago) and am now doing a birthday card that has to be finished this weekend! The cross stitch has not been stuck in the card bit and would welcome any advice on how to do that neatly please :) Thanks. Also think all the work shown is lovely and very inspiring :)

Love the card @Auti. I stick my cross stitch down first, usually with double sided tape or sticky dots then use the same to stick the front frame round each edge but there’s probably an easier way!
