Dug my project out, and washed it. Annoyingly, the red has bled on the words. Any advice on how to fix it once the stitch is complete? I'm absolutely gutted about it - hoping it can be solved.
Left side is post-washing, right side is this weekend's progress. Sorry the colours aren't showing very well. I am going to have muscles like Popeye at this rate - I need to get a floor stand when we move so I don't have to hold the Q-Snap! Currently using a hair clip to keep the pattern in place while I stitch haha.
I know now why I abandoned it previously - there was an error somewhere around the sky with counting and I have ended up having to do some fudging to make everything link up as it is supposed to, which has been rather time consuming. Hoping to get the big dreamcatcher finished this week, and then it's just a small patch of sky and a smaller dreamcatcher. Annoyingly some of the threads have faded, and a couple have gone walkabout, so I've had to improvise. Hoping it isn't too noticeable when it's all finished.
@Charly27 lovely projects @Coxy11 How clever! I've got loads of fabric cut into hexagons to patchwork with, but again, it has been sat to one side for over a decade as I don't have a sewing machine and don't know how to use one! Perhaps that can be next years project! I hope SIL gets moved soon x

Lovely design @foxandflowers but annoying about the colour run. I don't have any useful advice as it's never happened to me, but tbh given the nature of the design I don't think it looks too bad. Kinda gives it an ethereal look. Would a colour catcher sheet in the bowl of warm water work otherwise. Others may be more knowledgeable about this sorry!
I sewed the binding on my quilting piece yesterday. Clearly need to work on my mitred corners as they are all unique!! Very wonky and Patrick and Esme would definitely be sending me home lol. Have already used it for a hot pan of veg for yesterday's roast dinner so all good. It's knit and knatter at the local library this afternoon. Hoping they are friendly and I don't end up offending anyone by sitting in 'their seat'
Have a good day all Coxy

@foxandflowers that is annoying but I’m with @coxy1, I really like the effect and I imagine it won’t be at all noticeable once it’s finished. I love the design. It’s not happened to me with cross stitch but it has with a quilt and I just learnt to live with it. I’m sure you’ve asked g****e but sorry I can’t suggest anything either. @Coxy11 well done on completing the pot holder. Try not to compare your projects with more experienced stitchers, it’ll get easier and more fun. You’re brave to have gone to the WI and signed up for knit and natter. I haven’t really joined anything here yet but just spotted a couple of yoga classes at the community centre and am now going to find out about WI!

Everyone should definitely look into wi. Basically its just a women's group with added benefits of nationwide courses and classes if you want. I don't look at any of that, I've just enjoyed getting to know locals in my new neighbourhood. If you are lucky enough to have more than one, try them all as each group is autonomous so the feel will be different at each one

as far as things running, I think the idea is not to take it out the water while its still leaking, keep moving it in running water till no more dye comes out?

@daisy_1571 thank you, I will try and wash it again once it's finished maybe. I'm scared! But the encouragement that it looks fine anyway means that if it leaks again its not the end of the world.

I went to K&K - 4 of us, 1 of whom just natters! However I have managed to finish the tea cosy bar the bee buttons (it's a beehive design). I was going to buy 10 online for £3.50 plus £2 p&p but I will try the local haberdashery shop first. It was closed today when DH and I popped out for a coffee and to take a CS donation.
I've enough wool to make a second tea cosy, so I'm making a start tonight as DH has unexpectedly gone on the train to meet his mates. It's one of their birthdays and they are going for drinks. I dropped him off at 7pm and he's getting the 11.20pm train back which takes 50 minutes. I said I'd pick him up but if he misses it or falls asleep he's on his own!
I collected some tea cosies Mum has knitted and have photographed and listed them on my Etsy shop. 10 of them took me 1.5 hours - but they won't sell sitting in her spare room, so nothing ventured. My tea cosies will go on there once made too.
Hope everyone's doing okay Coxy x

Hi all, finished June and completed our house sale today. Delighted to be MF. I know we are VERY lucky but this also represents 20 + years of paying down debt and working hard. Now to start a new project.

Yay @Charly27 fantastic news about your house sale completion and being MF! That's is such a great start to your year and as you say, you've worked hard for this moment. Well done also on finishing June
I weighed the remaining tea cosy wool - exactly 50g - and started another half but adapted the pattern to make the first rows 12 instead of 14. Started on the second side but am now sure to run out eeeek! Oh well I think I'll pull it all back and keep the wool for another project. Still need to get bee buttons - I'm in our old town for my monthly WI meeting on Tuesday and need to go early as DH has a dental appointment and is going from there into London. I'll have a few hours to mooch about, get something to eat etc. so plan to go to the retail park and look in H0bbycraft to see if they have anything suitable. Hoping not to get distracted by pretty things like fat quarters...... wish me luck.
It's knit and knatter tomorrow afternoon so I'm going to sort out a small project to take with me. I will probably walk there and back so it's needs to be light.
Hope everyone else is going okay? Coxy x

Thanks @Coxy11 it hasn’t really sunk in yet! Enjoy the knit and natter and hope you have enough wool. I’ve looked up the local WI so just got to find where and when they meet. Started one of the new projects. Will post pictures when there’s a bit more to show. Have a good week all and hope crafting is going well.
