Morning @nmm. The card and bollard toppers look great and I’m so glad the ladies were able to right the damage inflicted. Sorry to hear about the losses, that’s a lot in a short space of time. Hi all,
Sorry to hear of your losses @nmm - I hope you’re okay? I’m glad you can support your Mum. The post toppers are fab, such a shame some mindless eejits think it’s okay to spoil things for others. Glad they can be repaired. The card is fab xx

Hi everyone,
Participants for the 2025 Christmas Card Exchange are:
Auti
nmm
daisy_1571 and
me!
Just checking none of the above have moved house in the last year? Please PM me if so. I will PM with who you are stitching for over the weekend so keep an eye on your inboxes. If there's anyone else lurking who would like to take part, please post on here.
I have started knitting a Christmas angel - found the pattern when tidying up my craft trunk the other day and thought I'd knit one. Just need to stuff the head, sew in the neckline and knit/attach the wings. May make a few to leave on local benches as a RAK type thing. Regardless it will use up my stash of oddments of wool!
Not sure if I said that I've quit the WI after a particularly nasty exchange over WhatsApp with the Secretary. It happened just as I returned home from our family holiday which was fab, so spoilt my high somewhat!! I didn't therefore attend the K&S show at Ally Pally and probably just as well as the stash hasn't really been dented this year.
We have had a chat with the family and have said we are not now buying for ILs or their adult children which has taken 10 off our list for both Christmas and birthdays. This was prompted by me receiving an escape room voucher for one when the minimum per game is 3 people. Would cost at least £70 to actually use the 'gift' Don't want to sound ungrateful but come on. Still have a couple of younger nephews and a niece and will continue buying for our parents, but a lot less stress. I had stitched a HSC Christmas design for SIL/BIL which I have a frame for. Now going to frame it up for us to display. We plan to paint the lounge white over the next few weeks (currently two shades of putty...) just to 'clean' it up for Christmas. Will decorate properly next year as need the ceiling plastered, and we are planning a log burner so some structural changes needed there.
I have taken the plunge a booked a felting course for June next year. It's £80 (gulp) but run by two sisters and if the finished design is anything like their photo, it will be very cute. Haven't had any experience of felting before, so hoping it isn't too difficult - has anyone else tried it?
My only outstanding WIP for 2025 is (still) the Haberdashery Shop which I really need to look at and find where I went wrong OR start again. I've done about a quarter of it though..... what to do. This happened once before with the Chicory Fairy design which was many shades of blue/mauve and a very busy design. I ended up buying the kit again and marking the pattern sheet as I went along which really helped. Not that I now have a spare room to display any of my cross stitch designs. I currently have a little one in the hallway and that's it as all others are packed away pending us decorating.
Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to catch up whilst I had a moment.
Hope everyone is doing okay and have a good weekend.
Coxy

Hi Coxy11 - I have not moved. Thank you for doing this I appreciate it - i am being crafty as it is a lovely distraction from medical stuff and it is nice to make something for someone else

it is a shame people can be unkind but I think you have done the right thing taking yourself away from the negativity - no one needs that.
Felting sounds awesome - and does not sound too expensive - you are worth it

afternoon all from a wet Wales

My knitted bunting has been put aside, as eldest has asked me to knit an Xmas jumper for her youngest dog. I knitted one for the eldest some years ago in red and cream, this one I'm doing green and cream but the same pattern. I haven't done fair isle for a while, but I do think it's easier to do 'in the round'

Oh that's so cute @Glad!! I've done basic fair isle and yes agree that knitting in the round is the way to go. Good luck and send photos!!
Please can all those taking part in the Christmas Card Exchange check their PMs as I have chosen who you are stitching for. Thanks.
