Morning all, bright and dry this morning but freezing cold! Was about 2 degrees when I hung out the washing. Not sure it's going to dry as there is absolutely no breeze at all but hopefully it will dry enough to be able to put in on the airer overnight to finish off. Max temperature today is about 6 or 7 so definitely not very warm. It's also forecast to rain this evening.
That's carp @bubbs about Facebook banning you from listing for 24 hours - couldn't really have come at a worse time for you. Hope you can get your stuff listed once the 24 hours are up and you can sort your orders.
Not had rice pudding for ages. In fact DH and I were talking about getting a carton of almond milk to make one at some point. We both prefer it made with almond milk as it is so much creamier than normal milk. Almond milk now added to my shopping list for tomorrow!
The slow cooker is in use again today - lamb and chickpea tagine this time. Again there should be another meal for the freezer for the end of next month after our holiday. I thought I had a tin of chickpeas in the cupboard but I didn't but spotted that last night so was able to to soak some dried ones overnight and pressure cook them first thing this morning.
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - chicken fajitas - P; S; F; 1.5
D - lamb & chickpea tagine, couscous - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - WM wrap
Syns - sweet chilli sauce 1.5
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all,
The weather is totally bizarre here! DS2 left at 6am to a very, hard white frost and by the time I got up at 8, it’s been raining. Still really cold but I’m off to salsa in a bit and will drive there.
Ive got lentil soup in the slow cooker using the broth of yesterday’s gammon joint. Dinner tonight is leftovers from last night - gammon, potatoes, veg. I do love leftovers 😁
I’m starting to pull together a Christmas food list. I don’t go overboard but as I’m hosting I will buy the extra bits and pieces others like such as cream for the desserts, choice of cheeses, mince pies etc.

Morning all,
That’s so annoying @bubbs especially when you were doing someone a favour!Jealous of folks hanging out washing. We don’t have an outside line at the moment so I either cram stuff onto the maidens or dry indoors ☹️
Have done a third coat of paint on the hallway and landing walls today. I didn’t attempt the stairwell walls as would involve the big ladder. DH can do those when he’s off tomorrow as due to being over 6’ he has orangutan arms and doesn’t have to climb as high!!
Food today:
B - 2 x satsumas - S
L - toasted protein bagel, apple - HEB, S
D - mascarpone chicken, AF potatoes, broccoli - guessing 5 syns for mascarpone (recipe will use 125g between 4 of us)
HEA - milk
Syns - 5 plus hi Fi bar so 8 total
I’m going to the town later for quiz night prizes, half price beef 🙏🏻 and a Sky VIP freebie. I’m also going to attempt my first Boots recycle as need night cream. Thanks for the review of the SC Beef Madras @joedenise. It looks delicious and I'm going to give it a try this weekend. I've got all the ingredients in except for plain cider vinegar. Do you think wine vinegar or fruit flavoured (blackcurrant??) would work?🤔
Hopefully that's the last coat of paint needed in the hall @Coxy11.🤞🏼I know you said you were just freshening things up but the white should make a good base for next time.
Hope that the FB ban doesn't affect business too much @bubbs.
It's a glorious day here again @Jellybaby. Fine rain was forecast but no sign of it yet. Like you, I love leftovers and lentil soup made with gammon stock I love even more.😋 I've got a small gammon joint in the fridge so will do that soon. There's a much larger one in the freezer ready for Christmas.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), LO mash (F), asparagus and pickles (S)
D- veggie chilli (P,S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
Syns- 00 -
I've been out and got the washing in and it's still really damp so it's all on the airer, just hope it dries overnight as no chance of hanging it back out tomorrow as rain forecast again!
@maman - I would substitute red wine vinegar if you haven't got cider vinegar; think the blackcurrant one might be a bit too "fruity". I left the lid off for the last hour to thicken up the sauce a bit. I was a bit surprised about needing to do this to be honest as one of the comments online said they'd added an extra tin of tomatoes as they like a "saucy" curry - we found it was plenty saucy enough without adding anything extra. Hope you like it as much as we did. It's definitely a recipe I'll be making again as it's so easy. I didn't even bother frying stuff off before putting in the SC just chucked everything in and gave it a good stir to mix it up. Really don't think it would have made much difference to the flavour if I had.0 -
Thanks @joedenise, I was thinking that the red wine vinegar would be the best alternative .
So pleased you said it works fine with just throwing everything in. 😁 That's exactly what I do with Bolognese, chilli etc. 👍
I would have thought one tin of tomatoes would be plenty too. I'm not keen on it swimming in sauce. That reminds me of the old, watery SW recipes. 🤣0 -
Evening all 😁
