Your diet wouldn't be very balanced if you had 3 of any of the food groups!  I'm pleased that we'll be able to use avocado, olive oil etc as healthy fats but I certainly don't want 3 lots of bread or similar in one day!  We also need to make sure we have some protein every day.

I'm surprised they've gone with any combination of the 3 though.  I think I'll probably mainly have just 1 A and B as now with the occasional healthy fat or cheese rather than every day.

@maman and @joedenise same here with the TD and have only used the dehumidifier once with a load of thick towels so far, airer on landing seems to work well. @maman those Sains sausages are nice, but store had no stock at the time I visited for 2/3 weeks, found a pack yesterday and as you suggest I will buy a few, split them down and stow in the freezer, I also like the Heck chicken ones when on special offer, use them for dog training too.

I'm glad to hear that the dog likes Heck sausages @maddiemay. I don't fancy them myself. 🤣

Thanks for clearing up the HEX questions @bubbs. I agree with you @joedenise that we'll probably stick with what we're used to but just like the occasional 2nd HEA, it will be good to know that you can have an extra slice of bread with soup or some toast now and again.

Washing more or less dried on the line although we did have one sharp shower. So another week done without the TD. 👍

We've not seen @TakeItEazy for a while. Hope all OK with you and yours if you're reading along. 🤗

    Get well soon @Jellybaby x

Well done on staying within target @bubbs x

I’m confused with the new rules. Actually searched for a nearby group last night to see if I should go back AGAIN.

Have been painting the hallway, stairwell and landing today with DH. Not a huge surface area but high and lots and lots of edges. Just doing white for now as we are going to order a new front door and still need to sand down the window frame, have the ceiling plastered etc. Looks cleaner but will need at least one more coat, probably on Tuesday.

Food today has been virtually non-existent. Will have tuna pasta bake for tea.

Denise, i think you will be surprised how many will want 3 b's! Do you mean calcium every day?
My consultant said she cannot wait to have 3 lots of cheese a day , i wouldn't want 3 lots if cheese a day!

Yes i will just continue with what am i doing now.

Coxy nothing to be confused about, some fats you can have  as a hex  , other 2 are the same apart from you can have 2 bs if you want, longs you don't go over the 3 extras

Morning all, it's horrible out there again!  P"ing down again although supposed to be dryer later - hope it's sooner rather than later as we have a guy coming to do some roof work later this morning, not sure it would be a good idea to have some of the tiles taken off when it's raining!

@Coxy11 - B is posting messages of where her groups are on Facebook if you want to go to one of her groups although personally I'd wait until after Christmas/New Year and get the new books - I'm still toying with that idea!

@bubbs - I meant that  we need a good mix of calcium, fibre, carbs and fat for a good balanced diet and have too much of any one food group.

    Today's plan:

    B - Weetabix, milk, blueberries - HEA2; HEB; S
    L - HM burger, bubble and squeak, extra green veg - P; F; S
    D - sweet and sour pork, rice - P; F; S

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - Weetabix
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

Hope the weather improves for you @joedenise so that the roof work can go ahead. It's dry here although a possible light shower is forecast for later.🤞🏼

I always remember an area manager coming to my first group and saying that HEXs were just that. They're extras and you don't have to have them at all if you don't want to because there are other ways of getting fibre, calcium (and now healthy oils) into your diet. We were surprised as we'd been told they were part of the plan so everyone had them. I remember having a milky coffee later in the day to make sure I'd used up my full HEA allowance. I'm a lot more relaxed now.😉

Well done on getting even more painting done over the weekend @Coxy11. The stairs and landing was the one area we bought in decorators for as it's so high and I didn't want DH balancing on planks and ladders. In the end, they just used rollers on long poles which we could have done.

It seems ironic that you're thinking of joining a group just when I'm going it alone.🤣 If it doesn't work for me then I'll have to think hard about which group to choose as my favoured consultant doesn't do any timings to suit me any longer.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- LO casserole with veg and pickles (P,S,F)
D- baked haddock (P), mash, mushy peas (F), cauli steak, broccoli, asparagus (S)
    Syns-0

    Afternoon all,

On the topic of new fat extras, I’m not really fussed. Due to tummy issues I need to watch how much fat I eat. However, I can probably guess a few SW members who’ll happily use three b choices a day!

I’m still struggling a bit with a cough although I feel much brighter and sinuses seem better (sorry if TMI 🤣). My brother’s been in touch to say he can’t take mum Christmas shopping after all so I’ve had a bit of a sweary rant at him! He’s rather shocked but it’s been a long time coming. It’s good to talk - or rant 🤣🤣

Didn’t have breakfast as I wasn’t hungry, I had minestrone soup and a chicken salad roll for lunch and it’s chicken curry from the freezer with rice for dinner.

It’s dry but absolutely bitter cold so another afternoon with my book I think 😉

Denise, yes i agree a balanced diet. Hope you got your roof sorted

I rarely have 1 hexa, do have some perhaps about half most days, sometimes i have a b, sometimes i don't, i will just do what i do now.

Jelly i bet your brother was shocked, but he now knows a few home truths!

Been bloody cold here today, rained this afternoon but not for long.

    Lunch
Picky plate, part hexb and 1 syn

Roof nearly done, he's just got to come back in the morning to finish up the last bit - he had to finish because it was getting too dark to be safe up on the roof.

He's also going to give us a quote to do the fascias and guttering which all needs replacing.  Hopefully it won't be too expensive!

Not been too bad this afternoon but it's definitely getting colder now.  Forecast is for a max of 2 degrees brrr!
