Afternoon all, wi this morning the realised I hadn’t recorded my weight since end of December! So not sure (can’t remember) if I lost Or not! Hubby weighs in kg & I didn’t check on st like I usually do, just thought it funny I was 666 😈.
My boys birthday today & hubby made cheesecake! Be rude not to to have some, plus son wants to lose weight so don’t want him to have to eat it all 🤪. It is what it is though! Back on it tomorrow.

Well done on your loss @weekendsaway.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I heard a new term today 'Damp January' where you cut down but don't do the full alcohol free month. Hopefully, that's what you're doing. 😁
I missed your post yesterday @winterbear95. So pleased you got a loss.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I'm sure you meant you weighed 66.6 kg @TakeItEazy, otherwise that would be a serious gain.🤣
Glad managed a run this morning @Coxy11 and a great result. I'm sure that running is good for your general wellbeing as well as the obvious exercise.
Well done for ignoring the Apple Strudel @Bluegreen143. I think we all have to prioritise syns and I certainly wouldn't use mine for a pudding. IMO there's nothing worse than wasting syns.
Welcome back @strawb_shortcake. You're certainly planning well ahead. I'm sure you can lose that weight much sooner and ward off the diabetes at the same time. As you're not going to a group then do ask if you want any syn values or anything else.
I expect @joedenise will be back soon, ready to work on losing holiday gain! 😂 I do envy her going away to the sun at this time of year.😎
Thank you all for your kind comments. DH is still in hospital but much improved since yesterday. When I went to see him this afternoon we walked down to Costa and had a coffee to give him some exercise and a change of scene.
I didn't bother with the G&Ts last night but had masala chai instead. I make my own version with the spice mix added to strong tea so none of the syns that the Indian version (boiled milk and tons of sugar) has. I'm out to eat next Tuesday @bubbs but have plenty of sys saved.
Today I've had overnight oats, JP with beans and salad and tonight I'm having the same as yesterday for dinner. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon and chips so I'm having it again with different veg. I will be having some weekend wine syns though.😁1 -
Hi all,
Semi planned the weeks meals ahead, but struggling with lunch ideas - may have to buy another soup maker, as tinned soup doesn't taste the same after having home made for so long. But ideas welcomed, I do 2-3 days in office but home otherwise.
I'm a creature of habit so overnight oats for breakfast.
Main meals this week
Greek chicken, flatbread, tzatziki, salad and maybe some herby sauté potatoes
Cottage pie
Chicken fajitas - daughters birthday so maybe involve a small slice of cheesecake
Roast beef
Hoisin chicken with cashews and boiled rice
Leek and bacon risotto.
I want to go to M&S for some fruit, seen some tasty looking red flesh apples, my usual supermarket is looking a bit lacklustre in the fruit department.
Will try to start catching up on your posts

@strawb_shortcake My favourite lunches since starting SW are:
- beans on toast (using the 2 small wholemeal slices as HEB), maybe with cheese (HEA)
- beans on baked potato, maybe with cheese (again HEA)
- tuna pasta with a little light mayo and fat free yoghurt (usually 2 syn per serving)
- cup of soup and a picky lunchbox of fruit, veg, cold meat and cheese (HEA)
- leftovers of anything I had for dinner, which is hopefully free or low syn
- Greek salad with feta (HEA) and usually 2 syn for olive oil (to make a dressing with lemon/vinegar & oregano) and possibly olives at 1.5 syn for the kind in brine
- smoked salmon on toast (HEB) and 1-2syn for lightest Philly
All ideally with some speed fruit & veg if I can manage it!
Pics of some lunches I’ve had since starting.

Sorry to hear you couldn't enjoy the cheesecake @TakeItEazy and that the tummy issues continue.☹
I'm another big fan of leftovers for lunch @strawb_shortcake. I deliberately cook extra veg on a Sunday which gives me bubble & squeak to have with cold meat and pickles on Monday and sometimes Tuesday too.
I'm another soup fan but I don't have a soup maker. My absolute favourite is lentil and veg made with the stock from boiling some gammon. Soup on its own isn't enough for me so I have a small salad too.
I do a variety of toppings for jacket potatoes like cottage cheese, prawns in HM Marie Rose sauce and always keep a small portion of chilli, Bolognese or curry out when I'm batch cooking as they're good on JPs too.
Also omelettes are quick and easy. I usually fill mine with whatever I have in the fridge like mushrooms, tomatoes, spring onions and sometimes sliced potato (more of a Spanish omelette) if I'm hungry. I always have something on the side, particularly pickles. I eat loads of beetroot, cornichons and pickled red cabbage as it's easy Speed food and if you've some HEA going spare then cheese on the omelette is yummy.😋
I wasn't feeling hungry until I typed that!
DH is coning home this afternoon. I'm just waiting for him to let me know what time to pick him up. He told me yesterday he doesn't want a roast as he hasn't much of an appetite yet so it's anyone's guess what we'll have for dinner.
So far today I've had a fry up for breakfast with potatoes instead of HEB toast and I've got a JP for lunch with prawns.
At last I'm starting to feel a bit thinner. Hope it lasts!😁0 -
