Hello @youth_leader, welcome  :) Very jealous of your allotment. I'm hoping to grow some veg in our new garden but unsure where at the moment! May have to be in pots this year.

Well done on the loss @maddiemay x

Thank you Coxy11.  It is quite a shady spot but the existing raspberry canes and strawberries flourish apparently. I'm looking forward to being outside and exercising without realising!  It is on a long community plot called a burgage, I'm in a medieval village and the burgages lead down to the river.  Lots of wildlife and birds!

My husband died in 2016 and I had to downsize to this bungalow in 2021 to stretch funds. My beloved cat died aged 17 in August 2022, then my beloved sheltie 6 weeks later ... and Mr Ratty decided to burrow under the shed about a month later.  I'm surrounded by neighbours on three sides and didn't feel able to grow veg here because it would attract the rats - who have been displaced by house building on the fields behind me.

You’ve had a rough time youth-leader. Hope Mr Ratty disappears soon. It’s sound lovely where you live.
Even after eating the party food from the freezer and a mashoosive scone and cream. I lost 1 lb so I’m happy with that.
Been out to a NT place today with a friend and had a lovely walk in the ☀️. Saw the snowdrops beginning to flower and daffodils poking their heads through….food for the soul 😄
I watched another programme about glucose in the body last night…..certainly made me think.

Brilliant news with the BP @bubbs. I wish the same for me but unfortunately not. I did come off them beginning of last year, but became very poorly again by the summer so not only back on them, but extras added. However Ive been on meds for it since my 20's so I was probably expecting too much

Cracking bargain with the ice cream machine

Welcome aboard @youth_leader, this is such a lovely friendly group. How lucky you are to have an allotment. Saying that we turned our veg patch over two years ago, put a hot tub in lol. Seriously we had been growing - or at least trying to for years but we don't have the weather here, Indeed farming here is cows and grass, crops usually spend most of the year under water . Gardening is a great form of exercise that's for sure. Sorry for the loss of your pets, heart breaking I know. Will you look to get a new companion in time?

Good loss there @maddiemay. If you are determined enough you will get there in the time frame you want :)

@milann , I nodded off watching that, but I had watched last weeks and will catch up again with this weeks one. Very much food for thought wasn't it?  I watched that on the back of Irresistible ( BBC2 I think) Scary stuff tbh

Well Im 15 days alcohol free - longest Ive gone since last dry January , and Im doing ok. Of course now I have syns for food, but so used to not having them Im still not, and then if I do crack and want something off plan - it's ok.

Ive been fighting the urge for crisps. I usually have crisps on weigh in day no matter if Ive gained , sts or lost, but I didn't last Saturday . Ive been determined to use DJ as an extra push on getting to target again. Looking back in my book last time I was target was March , since then its been top of or somewhere in-between and for a while there way out of range , but the scales are showing Im heading in the right direction - slowly - but Im feeling confident for this weigh in on Saturday

Another thing Ive changed this week, plugging the water. I never drink enough fluids, it's always been a coffee in the morning, then Diet Coke during the day - whiskey added to it from 4pm. So Ive also not had a Diet Coke for over a week :)  Ive found a fizzy water I like, lemon and lime, it doesn't taste like water either. Anyways Im managing a litre of that a day - and Im spending a lot of time back and forth to the loo lol.

    Hi all,

Not a great start to my day as I woke in the early hours with the migraine from hell. Wondered if I was imagining it but no! Got up at 8am for water and meds but couldn't face making my usual FnF and yog as could barely see. Just grabbed a choc chip brioche in order to take the meds. Then nodded off on the sofa until 10.30! Only woke up when the children across the road (village school) were on break time. Spent 3 hours in the garden as it's so mild, just clearing leaves from the beds and uncovering bulbs and other plants that have been buried. Looking good out there and I feel so much better for being outside.

It's the local pub quiz tonight so I'm going to stick to diet coke or soda and lime.

That's a lot of emotional loss in a short space of time @youth_leader - you have my sympathies. The allotment sounds good and will be a good community for you I'm sure.

Well done on the lb loss @milann. Which NT property did you visit? We are going to join too after having a couple of free entry visits recently. I watched the first of the glucose programmes last night and I too feel asleep so have added it to my watch list for another time. Interesting watching - what I saw of it.

Good for you @weekendsaway - 15 days AF is no mean feat. I too am trying to drink more fluid. Today just water but yesterday 1.5l of NAS squash which is about 1.25l more than I usually manage!

    Food today:

    B - choc chip brioche - 9?!
L - Protein bagel thin, light philadelphia, 2 satsumas, apple, iced gems - HEB, HEA, S, 4
D - chicken in mascarpone and tomato sauce, mini potatoes, broccoli - P, HEA, S

More syns than I'd like today but still just within my allowance.

    Have a good evening all,
    Coxy

    Evening all 😁

Weekends away my Mum had been on BP medication since her 30's when she unexpectedly fell for my young sister (she's 18 yrs younger than me!) It really went haywire and she was in hospital for 2 months on complete bed rest, i can remember it like it was yesterday and my sister is 39, but of course Mum was classed as an old Mum , she was 38 😂
    Well done being AF.

To me it's alien people  don't drink fluids as i am naturally a big drinker, i guess this weather i drink 3-4 ltrs, when it's hot i can drink 8-9 ltrs 😱

I never saw that programme but being T2 in remission i know what spikes your sugars and it is very surprising what causes it, this is the reason i don't eat rice and pasta.

Surely Denise will be home soon ?

Coxy glad you are feeling better x

Well i went company shop today, didn't get much , did get back bacon for 67p, cartons of cherries 25p, skimmed milk 1 pinters 7p 😂 got dh some southern fried chicken breasts £1.

Hence i have been out all day, called at a friends on the way back as it's her Birthday Sunday .

Food not alot! i might be having supper as we were both starving we had tea at 5.

    Cherries while we was out

Chicken and mushroom curry 2 syns, egg fried cauliflower rice and bns chips, both speed

dinner hm chicken, veg and lentil soup, beef sandwich heb bread and 3 syns for butter.
i had chicken out of the freezer defrosting for tea then we went for a walk in the sunshine………..

tea - fish, chips and mushy peas. I gave Dh half of my chips.
It was delicious and must have just a couple of days worth if syns. I’m not beating myself up but will be extra vigilant with my syns for the rest of the week.
