Definitely agree about taking things on holiday that don't crease @joedenise. 👍

We're having pilau rice with the keema. I make a big saucepan full at a time and portion it up in small, sandwich bags and freeze. When I want to use it, I just untie/cut the top of the bag and reheat like I would a microwave pouch. I do the same with brown rice.

    Mmmmmthat looks delicious again.
i did lots of cooking yesterday from a Persian cookbook. Most of it was SW friendly. cauliflower in coconut milk and peanut butter would have had some syns but it was worth it and a tin of reduced fat coconut milk with a couple of tablespoons of pb stretched to about 8/10 portions. We’ve still got quite a bit  left in the fridge. Also a bit of chorizo with herbs, potatoes, tomatoes, sweetcorn and onions will have served about 10 portions by the time it’s finished. What isn’t so good is Bakewell tart 🥴 but Ds took 1/2 home with him and we’ve had a very small slice each per day. Tomorrow will finish it off. If I get away with another maintain I’ll be happy. It was nice cooking for the family though and I do like Persian food 😁 I also served veg and cous cous, herby lamb steaks, salmon,  butter bean patties and salad.

Evening all, quite a day today  I knocked a bottle of nail polish off shelf onto hearth, of course it shattered and some landed on carpet, spent ages getting som off and then on to GPs.
Weeny mark on lung may be nothing, leave 1 year and rescan. Also liver readings a little raised, scan shows some inflammation liver/where gall bladder would be (removed years ago). 2 week protocol for a scope to see what is happening. So  not all fine, but could be far worse.
Thinking of you both @bubb while sitting waiting, it's grim waiting for answers.
So crackered we each sloped off to our beds and slept for an hour.
Thanks all back to SW tomorrow, clean slate.x

    Morning all,

Hope all goes well going forward for your DH @maddiemay

Your Persian recipes sound delicious @milann. You can come and cook for me anytime you fancy 😁

I’m out this morning mainly sorting stuff for parents.  I’ll pop into the library on my way home for a browse (and get rid of the stress I will no doubt have 🤣) and pick up some books.

    Today’s food:
    B - fruit and yoghurt 1.5 syns
L - tuna salad, soft pitta HEXB, salad cream 1.5 syns, fresh pineapple
D - gammon steak, new potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweetcorn

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, not so bright this morning but done the final load of washing for a few days, just a couple of bits left in the washing basket.  I'm pleased to say that the skirt I made has been washed and looks OK and not creased so it may actually end up in my suitcase as a suitable thing to wear in the evenings.  I've made it mid calf length but when I make another one I'll probably make it shorter to knee length or just below.  I actually have enough of the same fabric to make another one but not planning on using the same fabric to make another - I'll have to look out for another pattern.

Hope things work out for your DH @maddiemay.

Thinking of your and your DH @bubbs.  Hope everything goes well.

Hope your back is feeling better @maman with the new meds and they're knocking you out too much.

    Today's plan:

    B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
    L - bacon omelette, fruit - P; S; F
D - keema curry, wild/basmati rice, mango chutney, small piece of garlic and coriander naan - P; S; F; 11

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - mango chutney 2; naan 9

    Have a good day everyone.

GP is obviously not bothered about the mark on the lung @maddiemay and lets hope the other issues prove nothing to worry about either.🤞🏼

It's sort of dampish but not raining here today IYSWIM. I wish we could either have a decent day or a really good downpour to soak the ground.

What about a wrap around skirt @joedenise?🤔 I find them very forgiving on holiday?🤣

Hope your time with the parents wasn't too stressful @Jellybaby. What sort of books do you like?

We've got a plumber here today as we decided to have the downstairs radiators replaced. He's actually finished hanging them but still checking everything works and clearing up. I just grabbed some ham from the fridge to keep me going and have some soup for when he leaves. I went out this morning to stay out of the way. I treated myself to a pedicure and a browse around the charity shops.😁

Realised we'd run out of mango chutney last night so it's on the list and I've saved a couple of syns.👍🏼

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEA milk
    L- ham, lentil soup (P,S)
D- cold chicken (P), SW chips (f), broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
    Syns-0

Have decided to make a couple of tops first @maman as don't have many other than t-shirts and think skirts look better with a top rather than a t-shirt.

Have found a pattern and some fabric.  Just copying the pattern onto some pattern paper as I find the tissue pattern tears too easily!  Once that's done I'll make a start on cutting out.  Don't think I'll get any sewing done today though.

A wrap around skirt's a good idea but don't think I've got a pattern for one but there might be one at the bottom of the drawer!  Possibly one of the old Prima patterns as have quite a few of those.
