Afternoon all, or should that be evening!  Didn't get up much later today, still up at 6.30 but better than it has been.  DH can only really use one hand/arm so needs help with doing up his shirt buttons and button on trousers (he hates trackies and doesn't even own any - would be so much easier if he had some though!).  Anyway it's only for a couple of weeks and hopefully as long as he continues to do his exercises he'll get to use the left hand/arm a bit more.  He's got 3 exercises at the moment and in a few days he can add in another couple.  He needs to phone Benenden tomorrow to get a list of physios locally that they'll pay for following his op - not sure how many they'll pay for but suspect it will only be 6 or so.  He could go to the hospital for physio but it's a long way to go for it and quite honestly I don't want to drive down there although he'll be able to drive again in about 10 days time.

Done a load of washing, dried on the line and now folded and put away.  That'll be it for a few days as not enough to do a load tomorrow and then rain forecast Tuesday onwards for a few days.

Have been doing some sewing today and have almost finished a box pleated skirt which I cut out yesterday.  Just need to turn it up and hem it - my least favourite part of dressmaking!

Enjoy the party @maddiemay - it'll be a case of good when you can and careful when you can't.  Hopefully they'll be some SW friendly foods.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger, onions, gherkins, soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - gammon steak, new potatoes, green veg (home grown potatoes) - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - soft pitta
Syns - mini mix lolly 6; sausages 2; burger 0.5

I picked my first butternut squash - it is bigger than the last one I bought at 1.23Kg!  Have got 4 more good sized ones growing so should be OK for squash this winter.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

The BNS sounds good @joedenise and I'm sure home grown potatoes will taste delicious. 😋

All washing done here too @bubbs including bedding. I didn't do any yesterday because rain was forecast but it lasted about 2 minutes. 🤔☹️

Hope you found something SW friendly at the party @maddiemay

I really enjoy hand sewing @joedenise. I often sew the hems of shop bought skirts because I think they hang better. I remember when my DH broke his wrist, it's really difficult to do buttons up on someone else as it's the wrong way round.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, strawberries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
    L- Spanish omelette and salad (P, S, F)
D- roast chicken (P), new potatoes (F), many Speed veg (S)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, gravy 4, weekend wine 😁

Maybe we should get tougher @maman and you can sew the hem for me, LOL!  I'm going to be really lazy and just run it round on the machine, the colour is such a good match I don't think it will show (it was certainly really hard to see when I sewed part of the pocket into the waistband and had to unpick it!).  It's actually quite an easy pattern so may well make another one in a different colour fabric.  This one is a fairly dark blue (not as dark as navy though).  I've definitely got a nice pink fabric but not too sure about wearing a pink skirt!

I've not found it too bad doing up DH's buttons on his shirt but trouser buttons are really difficult but it's getting easier with practice!

I used to hand sew for a living, piecework at that, i had to do 8 stitches to the inch!

I don't have that problem with dh and buttons 🤣 the only thing he has buttons on is 1 on his jeans 🤣 the only time he wears a shirt if wedding/funeral.

lunch, This was a good idea at the time to use some beans up out of the fridge, but oh my , made a mess i only picked it up and had spilt it down me
Cheese and baked beans toastie, hexb, hexa , i made this in the omelette maker just the right size and shape for soft pitta

@bubbs - DH doesn't usually wear shirts but he can't lift his arm up to put on a T-shirt that's why it's shirts at the moment!  Also means he can't wear a jumper so it's good that it's still warm as he only has one heavy weight winter cardigan as he usually wears jumpers.

Your yorkies always look huge - mine never rise like that!

Morning all, another bright one this morning and no rain forecast but there wasn't yesterday but we had some about 10pm by which time of course I'd already watered the garden!

I make my yorkies exactly the same way @bubbs but they just don't rise very much but never mind they still taste good!

Think I'm going to try and finish my skirt today as it only needs the hem doing.  But other than that not planning on doing much else although I need to do a bit of cleaning in the motorhome as haven't got round to washing the floor in there yet so might do that as well.  Housework indoors all done so it'll just be the usual cooking and washing up.

    Today's plan:

    B - Weetabix, milk - HEA2; HEB
    L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
    D - ham, egg, chips, mushrooms, beans - P; S; F

    HEA1 and 2 - milk
    HEB - Weetabix
Syns - none planned but still have some mini mix lollies and cereal bars so may have one or both!

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, sun is out but forecast says rain all day so we’ll see!

I’ve two people coming to quote for the work I want done and over the weekend added another few jobs to the list 🙈

Meeting a friend for a walk and coffee shortly then popping into town to return shoes I ordered online for a wedding I’m going to. The days of being able to walk in high heels are well and truly over. What was I thinking 🤣🤣

    Food today:
    B - fruit and yoghurt 1.5 syns
L - ham salad roll HEXB, fresh pineapple
D - homemade fish cakes, loads of roasted veg

    Have a good day everyone.

Weather forecast for here is a chance of rain almost any time or any day even though it's warm and sunny. It's so infuriating if we change plans and then it doesn't happen!

I rarely, if ever, wear heels these days @Jellybaby . I could probably send those I have to a charity shop. I'm quite tall so I don't need them IYSWIM and as we walk or use public transport whenever possible then flat shoes are far more practical. I bought some excellent sandals this year which have sort of platform soles and that bit of extra height does seem to improve posture. They're not dressy sandals though, more for walking.

Is your skirt for an occasion @joedenise or holidays?🤔 It hasn't taken you long to make it.

We're having keema again tonight as I want to use it up and I like having a 'measured' meal the night before WI. It doesn't matter so much with evening WI but it's a habit. I'm not feeling any thinner and was dismayed to read that the medication for my back has weight gain as a possible side effect.😡 Surely that can't happen on a few days??🤔

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk
L- cold meat (P), LO veg and pickles (S)
D- keema curry and rice (P,S,F)
    Syns- mango chutney 2

The skirt isn't for any particular occasion I just felt like doing some sewing so had a look through my patterns and came across this skirt pattern and decided to make it.  Just had to look through my fabrics to find a suitable one.  Not sure whether I'll take it on holiday, depends how creased it gets when I wash it once it's finished.  If it creased easily then I won't but if it does then it will do perfectly for an evening in the bar!

I've got a keema curry out for tomorrow night's dinner @maman, also got out some basmati/wild rice which I'm going to try to cook as boil in the bag as I froze it in a sous vide bag.  Just hope it works otherwise we'll end up with a messy saucepan and I'll have to make some couscous to go with the curry!

I've got plans to make some more curry for the freezer, probably next week, so have made up a batch of curry powder.  I much prefer my own curry mix to any I can buy in the supermarket and I know exactly how much I need to use to get a curry at my preferred heat!
