Well done @bubbs on your gain - glad you're in bottom half of range and not out of it again!
Well done @Suffolksue - STS is good as it's your wine group meeting. Brilliant that you managed to avoid too much alcohol. Could you have something to eat before you go next time so you're not as tempted by the nibbles, or even take your own nibbles which are low syn?0 -
Hi all,
It’s our wedding anniversary today and we’re in the New Forest this weekend. Came down last night and ate at the hotel. I chose well - smoked haddock and spring onion risotto to start and halibut with green veg for main. No pudding but we shared a bottle of white wine - was very sinusey this morning.Today we’ve been to Winchester and visited the NT mill. Had a cooked breakfast before we left - scrambled egg, lean bacon, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans. I also had a bowl of fruit salad. Steered clear of the pastries. We stopped at midday for coffee and obligatory cake and are just enjoying a pre-dinner GnT.Think we’re eating in the town (Lyndhurst) tonight but I’m happy to drive and not have a drink.Well done @Jellybaby with your loss and @Suffolksue with your STS xxCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -

Congratulations on your anniversary and welcome to Hampshire @Coxy11. 😊 You made wise choices at breakfast in the hotel. I always avoid sausages as they vary in syns so much. I wish I'd read your post earlier as there's a super Italian restaurant in Lyndhurst called La Pergola. 😋
Well done on your loss @Jellybaby and your gain @bubbs. STS is good for you @Suffolksue after the nibbles.
You've got plenty of leeway @bubbs so hardly need to be careful. As you're not drinking @Jellybaby then you'll have plenty of syns if you want cheesecake or anything else that takes your fancy.
I'm hoping to clear the washing basket tomorrow too @joedenise. I've changed the bed today as well. 🤞the weather forecast will be right. It tipped down here this afternoon.
We've been to see The Salt Path at the cinema today. I wouldn't rave about it but it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.
I'm feeling really fat but will just plod on and hope for the best. I'm going to enjoy my holiday and then deal with the inevitable gain when I get back, however long it takes.
Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA 1 milk, raspberries (S), banana (F)
L- Spanish omelette (P, S, F, some HEA 2 cheese ), pickles (S)
D- salmon (P), SW chips (F), stir-fry veg (S)
Syns - weekend wine 😁

We saw La Pergola on the drive back to Lyndhurst from Winchester but there was an Italian within staggering distance of our hotel - Dolce Vita. Gorgeous food. I had calamari to start then linguine with seafood. Also had crème brûlée as a special occasion. Back on plan tomorrow 👍

Morning all,
Belated happy anniversary @Coxy11 your meal sounds gorgeous x
STS is good @Suffolksue it’s not a gain 😉
Do you have holiday anticipation excitement 😁 @joedenise and @maman. I love the few days before a holiday, even the packing! No cheesecake yesterday so my syns are safe haha. I’m counting 10 as I had a few dressings and some cheese that was likely more than an A choice.
Ive had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and it’s roast chicken dinner later. I only usually have two meals during the day at weekends and it worked out that way when I was away last week. I think I’m going to try it this week. I’m not drastically cutting food as my meals are big so I’m never hungry and it means I don’t tend to snack either.Off out for a wander round the local garden centre - they have beautiful stuff but very expensive so I’ll only be looking 🤣0 -
Morning all, a lovely morning, very bright but a bit breezy so good for getting the washing dry! I've done a load of clothes and towels plus the bedding this morning and it's all out on the line blowing nicely. Don't think it will take very long to dry.
Enjoy your wander around the garden centre @Jellybaby. They always seem really expensive to me so rarely bother with looking around them so I'm not tempted! The only time we go is for our monthly "free" hot drink and then not every month. It's due for renewal but going to leave that until we come back from holiday as no way are we going to get there this month!
DH has finally agreed it would be better to travel Tuesday evening and park up at the port ready for our morning ferry! Just means I need to get something cooked to have on the boat on the way over as ferry food is never particularly good particularly breakfasts!
Today's plan:
B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
L - burger, onions, gherkins, sof pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - lamb and chickpea tagine, mash - P; S; F; 2
HEA 1 - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5; apricots 2
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Glad you enjoyed your meal @Coxy11. It's a shame you couldn't stay longer as weather is much improved today.😎
Same here @joedenise. Washing basket is cleared and anything else will just have to wait until we get back. I asked DH to be sure he's got everything he needs to go away and 🤞🏼he listened! 🤣 I'm gradually putting thing I plan to take with me on the bed in the guest room. I have some appointments (nice ones like nails and eyebrows not medical) but I'll have time in the next few days to finish it off.
It'll be much better being at the ferry port the night before , probably safer too as you don't want DH driving tired. We haven't been on a ferry since Covid but Brittany Ferries had the most amazing food both in the restaurants and the cafeteria. Dover was much worse though. It's probably because the journey is much longer so it's all part of the experience. That being said, they do decent breakfasts on the IoW ferry!😁
Will you be going up into Belgium or sticking with France?🤔
It's worth an experiment having two meals a day @Jellybaby. I think, if it was me, I'd have a more substantial breakfast. When do you have your HEB?🤔
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- JP (F), prawns (P), pickles, salad (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S,F), cauli, broccoli, cabbage (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1
