For once I have some good news to post 1.5 off last week and the same today, now right at the top of range. On holiday here for another week, will attempt to WI again then. It's literally 5 mins walk. Wet and windy yet again. Hope everyone has a good day.

Afternoon all, a miserable day here with showers on and off all morning but trying to brighten up at the moment.  Have spent the morning cooking!  I've got a beef bourguignon in the slow cooker for dinner tonight,  I've made some fishcakes for lunch which are firming up at the moment and I've also finally made the marmalade!

Well done @maddiemay on your losses both last week and this week and great that you are back to top end of range - I'm hoping I've lost the weight I put on last weekend to get back there when I weight tomorrow but think it's going to be touch and go!

Hope both you and your DH had a good night last night @bubbs and everything is OK for him.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs and spinach, toast - HEB; P; S
    L - garlic, ginger and soy haddock fishcakes, salad - P; S
    D - beef bourguignon, mash, veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

Well done on your persistence and your loss @maddiemay!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I know it's hard to stay in target range but it is so worth it IMO as it's definitely much harder to lose the weight when loads has piled back on.

Those fishcakes sound delicious @joedenise. I've never really tried making my own. Do you use a recipe?🤔

How was the mac and cheese with the kale and leeks @Coxy11? DH loves mac and cheese and he enjoyed something similar in Pret a while back.

How are you both today @bubbs?🤔

Stayed on plan yesterday morning (porridge and fruit) and lunchtime (soup and salad) but we were out yesterday evening with friends. It was very synful (cocktails followed by a meal with chips and bread) and I enjoyed every syn! Line drawn today though.

Later, I need to check what I have in that needs using up before we go away.  I only want to buy a minimum tomorrow to see us through to Wednesday morning so may have some odd concoctions. Heavy rain was forecast here today but so far we've had just a few showers on and off.

I had an email from SW trying to flog those recipe boxes. Does anyone actually buy them??

Not sure about the syns for gravy tonight. It's HM from the freezer and then a bit of a cheat as it's a packet of breast slices to go with it, an easy meal I discovered when we had the builders in and facilities were limited.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs, bacon (P), baked beans (F)
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
    D- chicken dinner (P,S,F)
    Syns- gravy 4 max?

    Well done @maddiemay xx

The Mac n cheese was lush @maman. Will definitely do it again sometime. Do you want the recipe?

    Today’s food:
    B - GF toast with 2tsp jam, blueberries - HEB, 1, S
L - JP, mackerel in tomato sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles - 1, free, S
D - chilli con carne with rice - free
    HEA - milk
    HEA - cheese
    Syns - Twirl 5.5, Skinny bar 3.5, plus 2 so 11 total

Please would a kind soul tell me the syn values of these:

The pasta is Aldi and the rice crackers are Walter and Wild. TIA xx

Yes please to the recipe @Coxy11

I can't find the Walter and Wild products but give us the food values and we'll work the syns out. The Aldi pasta is free. 😊

Slimming World, 50 Golden Greats recipe book
Mac 'n' Cheese (serves 4) - Ready in 20 minutes

    500g dried macaroni
    2 large leeks, thinly sliced
    200g kale, roughly chopped
    200ml boiling vegetable stock
    1 tbsp onion granules
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    1 tsp mustard powder
2 tbsp chopped fresh chives (optional)
    50g reduced fat Cheddar grated
    200g plain quark

    1. Cook the macaroni adding the leeks and kale for the last 3 minutes of cooking time. Drain and return to the pan.
    2. Pre-heat grill to medium.
    3. Put the stock, onion granules, garlic, mustard powder, chives, and 3/4 of the cheddar in a large pan over a low heat. Whisk the quark until smooth then whisk into the stock and heat gently. Season to taste, add the drained macaroni and vegetables and mix well.
    4. Spoon into an oven dish, sprinkle over the remaining cheddar and grill for 5 minutes until golden and bubbling.
NB. We only had 350g of macaroni and it was plenty enough for the 3 of us. We didn't use chives as had none in. DD requested we add chopped bacon next time but that would entail another pan!

Thank you for the syn values. The rice crackers info for 1/4 pack:
    KCals 105
    Fat 1.5g
    Saturates 0.7g
    Sugar 0.8g
    Salt 0.44g

Are the Nairns listed on the app at all please?
    Thanks so much xx

@maman - I didn't use a specific recipe but fishcakes are just a mix of mash and fish which I've made quite a few times but always thought they were a bit bland so decided to add some spice to give them a bit of oomph but didn't add enough so when I do them again it will be with a bit more spice and soy sauce.  I just added the garlic, ginger and soy when I mashed the potato before stirring the cooked fish into it.  Then just make into fishcakes, put in the fridge or freezer (I bunged them in the freezer on a plate as a bit short of time but would usually put them in the fridge for longer) just to firm them up and then spray a pan and fry them until they've crusty on each side before turning down the heat for them to warm through.  I think they might have worked better with a stronger fish - perhaps salmon or smoked haddock rather than plain haddock.

Thanks for the Mac & Cheese recipe @Coxy11.

To work out the syns @Coxy11 you need to post the values per 100g and then the weight per portion (at least that's how I used to do it when I had the app!).

Thanks for the recipes @Coxy11 and @joedenise. Something to do try.

The Nairns flatbreads are 2.5 each. I'll need carb to protein content to check the rice cakes.

I've just finalised the last few days menu plan before we go away as don't want to have to do any more shopping until we go away after tomorrow.  Looks like we're going away the same day @maman - we're off early Wednesday morning too as we're on the ferry from Newhaven at 9.30am and it's a good 3 hour drive from here!  I'm trying to persuade DH to go down Tuesday evening and park up nearby so we don't have to get up quite as early but we'll see!!!
