The restaurant is really busy, they do JP various topping for about £3.50 with a side salad , salads, sandwiches have a special  hot meal every day, etc , fruit, plus all the cakes etc

Our local hospital has a Marks and Spencer cafe, Costa and WH Smiths as you go in but hidden away in the basement is a much cheaper one like you described @bubbs. I haven't used it myself but other visitors told me about it when DH was in. I'm glad there is that option for people who go often as, between that and the parking, costs can mount up.

There is an m&s shop but not cafe, parking is at least £3.30 up for 3 hrs, i spent about £15 on parking last Tues/weds alone 🙄costa but that's nearly £7 for 1 coffee and tea , it's £1.60 in the restaurant, yes it's a long walk but that won't harm me 😂

Is there an office in the hospital for parking?  At ours cancer patients don't have to pay parking, they get given a printed letter so they don't have to pay.  Not sure how it works now as they've recently changed to ANPR cameras.  Certainly with asking.  Perhaps ask the McMillan nurse if she know.

Denise, we asked, it's only for Oncology patients. Someone did say he is eligible for a disabled badge so i will ask tomorrow.

My sister came today, i said was it 7 or 8 yrs since her dh died, she goes now 9 1/2 😱 10 feb, i knew it's feb but honest to go didn't realise it was that long

bubbs. If your DH can get a blue badge then you can apply online. Our councils current time for applications is 12 weeks but it does vary from council to council.

Morning all,

A work day for me. Have just had tortilla - potato, egg, cherry tomatoes and chives with a tbsp of brown sauce. 

I have more LO mushroom risotto for lunch with blueberries, an apple and a banana, with a skinny whip for the train home. Dinner tonight is Mac n cheese from the 50 golden greats recipe book - it includes kale and leeks for speed. 

Definitely ask about free parking @bubbs especially if you’re going to be there all day 😳 Hope all goes well xx
