Thanks for the good wishes. I'm sure I'll have a lovely time and come back at least half a stone heavier to prove it!🤣
The must be a logic in why your DH wans to get up in the middle of the night to drive to the ferry terminal @joedenise.🤔🤔🤔 Bon Voyage when you get there.😊
Good to hear that your dad is visiting again @Coxy11. It seems ages since he was last here when he was really poorly. Hope you found something not too synful or really delicious for lunch.
I used the last of the meatballs from the freezer for last night's dinner @Jellybaby. 😋 Will make more as soon as we get back but will make do with Turkish kofte while we're away.
All set now except for some last minute packing of toiletries and things I'd rather not fold up too soon. Tonight's dinner is a bit short on Speed as all I have left are a few onions. We'll eat some and slice the rest for the freezer. No problem as I had a fair bit of Speed with lunch and breakfast. I did have 3.5 syns (half bar) of chocolate yesterday and will finish it off tonight.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, bacon, eggs (P), tomatoes (S)
L- LO casserole and pickled cabbage (P,F,S)
D- BGTY sausages, SW chips, baked beans (F), eggs (P) roasted onions (S)
Syns- BGTY sausages 2, 70%chocolate 3.50 -
Happy holiday @maman

Have taken Dad to every CS and antique shop in the locality. He is like a pig in muck as they don't have anything like it in Cyprus. He is also very excited to be going to a boot fair whilst he's here - it's the small things
I had a slab of coffee and walnut cake for lunch(!) but didn't eat the frosting as far too sweet. Now just home and relaxing and Dad is reading the Daily Naz! from cover to cover like always!!
Glad you got some bargains at Company Shop @bubbs xxCross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent0 -
I could kiss the optician….dh has put an awful lot of weight around his tummy and I’m trying my best to keep us both on track….however…dh quite likes his Greggs too good to go packs 🥴 of which he seems to get a lot 😡😳. I’ve been trying to resist. ANYWAY the optician told him to eat more green veg and fish yesterday for the health of his eyes 👍👍 so he has declared he’s going to cut back on the Greggs. It’s so maddening as he knows exactly what to do as he used to be the diet cook at the hospital when I first met him ( we both had the same job when hospitals made all their own food from scratch)
So hopefully with him on board I won’t have as many temptations 🤞
Breakfast - yoghurt, cherries and raspberries 30g granola
Dinner - jacket with beans, beans and salad.
Tea - beef salad
Snacks - banana, satsumas, 1 chocolate 3 syns.Tomorrow will be tricky as I’ll be baking all day ready to take cakes with us. We’ll leave at 6 in the morning on Thursday to get to Dd in-laws . About a 5 hour drive in the motorhome. We’re eating out at the local village pub….I’ll try my best over the weekend 🤞January spends - £587.580 -
Worked out why DH would rather get up in the middle of the night that drive tonight! He's a bit worried about whether the headlights are up to driving in the dark (wasn't actually thinking we'd be going that late anyway!). Also he's had to drive to and from Benenden Hospital this afternoon and we had an extremely frustrating trip down there - kept getting behind drivers who were doing 20 in a 30mph zone, 40 in a 60mph zone etc etc so took nearly half an hour more than it should have done and we only made it by the skin of our teeth and also got the last parking space! If there hadn't been any he would have got out and I would have had to drive back the way we came to the overflow carpark and then walk back! Glad it didn't come to that!
Rather you than me @milann with a 5 hour drive in the motorhome. Hopefully the local village pub will have something SW friendly, I've found most pubs usually have something that isn't too bad.
Right that's it for now. May pop in from time to time while we're away but won't be mentioning food!!!!

Wishing happy travelling to @joedenise, @maman and @milann.
A lot of our holiday time has been spoiled by bad weather, but seems to have improved this week. Have managed to do some of the walks and visits on our list, but making us a bit tired having to cram so much in, thats how it often pans out in the Lake District though.
WI at local group on Thursday, but have not been on plan ☹️The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Maddie, sorry you have had crap weather, this week is going to make up for it though 😁Good luck for WI

Morning all,
Have a lovely holiday too @milann
Good luck for WI @maddiemay it’ll probably not be as bad as you think.
Hope your cough doesn’t come to anything @Coxy11. DS2 is complaining of a scratchy throat and feeling rubbish, but he’s a man 😉
We have sunshine and heat for one day only apparently! Beds stripped and on the line and all the cushion covers and throws are in the machine as I type. I’m home all day so can’t sit and read my book must keep cleaning 😎
I’m about to have toast and beans with the last of the bacon medallions and it’s fish and chips with salad for dinner. There’s plenty yoghurt and fruit to snack on if I feel peckish. Feeling a lot less bloated this week.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
I weighed in this morning and was delighted to loose 21/2 lb. That’s taken me back to a new stone bracket and I don’t ever want to visit the one I’ve left ever again 😃. I don’t think I had anything on plan in London but got straight back onto it once I was home….must have done something right 😃
I’ll be back when we get home on Monday.
!!!!!! Beanie would say…..keep plodding 👍January spends - £587.580
