’We’ have had a bit of a disaster with the Lulu Guiness bag…..the GC, now considering himself a ‘womens’ designer bag expert’ had to examine it minutely and in the process of trying to open it with great big clumsy man hands managed to inscribe two big fingernail scratches into the delicate leather. (GC currently residing in the dog house!). Men…pfftt .harrump!!!!!
I don't know if this might help: https://muudstore.com/blogs/news/dealing-with-scratches-on-your-leather-bag5 -
@SandyShores Liberal doses of leather restoring cream and much massaging of the scratched area has almost made the scratches disappear☺️. Thanks again!
Today’s trip to Otley unearthed a pair of b/n Cotton Traders cropped dark demin jeans and an Indigo by M & S white cotton cardi….also b/n….. both were 99p each. Also picked up a Marco Polo map of Sardinia in the 20p shop, just what was needed for a forthcoming trip.Thinking of removing the copper coloured sequinny things???7 -

I looked for an outfit for the upcoming afternoon tea in London today while I was in Leigh-on-sea. I found a sheer blouse, a black pencil skirt and a dress. I also bought a couple of black tops that were on the £1 rail just for everyday wear. I might need a smarter coat or jacket so I'm going out tomorrow to look.

Popped into local charity shop. I resorted to buying a new black dress for a funeral last week as the local shop has had no plain black dresses for all the weeks I have been looking (I knew the funeral would be coming up).
What did I see today but rows and rows of black dresses! Ho Hum. Donated a box of stuff and picked up 3 pillar candles for a £1 (all new in a box). Love a candle so these will be a treat.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -

My local charity shop is dire. Full of expensive Zara stuff ! The bargains are few and far between and I haven’t managed any for ages. I am very envious of everyone’s lovely buys. I shall continue my quest.6

Oh dear….I seem to have bought another bag 🫢
Did the rounds of the chazza shops in Northallerton and Thirsk at the week-end but found nothing. Passing thro Ripon today called into the Age Concern shop at the last minute….spotted a mushroom coloured backpack in a gorgeous thick pebbled leather tucked away on a high shelf. A few unladylike leaps into the air managed to dislodge the bag enough for a quick inspection. Designer, Alexander Wang, (?). Priced at £49.99 which seemed rather expensive, even tho it appeared brand new, so I left it. A quick Google in Booth’s car park left me stunned! There is one used bag on EBay priced at £556 and apparently the original price was over £1,000! Needless to say I hot-footed it back to the shop sharpish! It really is a beautiful bag tho a little heavy thanks to the thick leather.
Oooooh, and for anyone keen on car booting in North Yorks, Bedale starts on Sat 15th March and Northallerton starts on Sun 2nd March 😄11 -
Wise to walk away of it wasn't worth £50 to you, @MiróNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
ooh what a find, @Miró! I would have done the same...will you keep it?
I found a couple of things today. This vase, which I love (photo attached) and which cheered me up on another grey day for £4.49. I can't work out the signature om the bottom but think it might be 'RN'. It looks handmade to me, but I am not an expert.
A very thin polo-neck long sleeve in a gold shimmery material. Very understated but nice for layering. Brand is Lauren Vidal. £7.99.
And a glitzy necklace and some beads for the weekend as I am at a hen do requiring dressing up in 1920s style.
