I really wish I was not a handbag-aholic! 👛
Spotted this Lulu Guiness handbag in the window of one of the chazza shops in Bedale yesterday. Unusually for a Saturday the shop was shut. Dun a bit of research about it since and apparently it’s quite an iconic bag. Cannot stop thinking about it…..I know it’a a bit quirky but I love the look of it. It’s priced quite highly, about 1/3 of the 2nd hand market price. Do I go back for it…..? Hmmmmm

Not my thing. And handbags in general are much avoided when possible. But I'd go back for this if only to sell it on for a bit of profit. I expect there may be others who have spotted it and are thinking the same. So if you want it you'll have to be quick!!!Miró said:I really wish I was not a handbag-aholic! 👛

I am big on practical handbags and have far too many. Not quite up there with my haul of scarves, but not far off either. I use them until they are worn out and then ditch them - I cannot see me running out of them, ever!Brie said:

So much to read, so little time.6 -
I always check out the books when I go charity shopping but some are just way too expensive! This weekend I found some for 70p each which I thought was good and then in another shop they were 40p. Obviously not much demand for books in the Fens (Wisbech and March). 😉I_Love_comps said:Can I join please. I love mooching about in a charity shop.
On Friday I went into a local hospice shop and bought the book A Tiny Bit Marvellous by Dawn French for a £1. Price on the back of book £8.996 -
Went back this morning but the shop is still closed until tomorrow ☹️ Have the ‘Gentleman Caller’ all set to be on the chazza shop doorstep at 9.05 tomorrow 😋. Did the rounds of the chazza shops in Ripon to console myself. Came away with a nice pair of Rohan dark denim jeans, b/n and £6 from the YMCA shop. Straight leg stylee not the current, (and hideous imho), barrel leg style. Does anyone actually like those? Then found an Autograph leather cross body bag in taupe, nice & roomy and £4.Brie said:

I didn't get a calendar for Xmas this year, first time in years, so bought one off v!nted - a Beryl Cook one
.
Also bought some per una wide fit shoes in the local CS, thought i should get some proper shoes rather than wearing variations of trainers or boots all the time.

No definitely not and interestingly I haven't spotted anyone wearing them around here at all, not even any of the students. I have seen a few of the wide leg styles being worn but not very many so I don't think either of those styles is catching on and I'm waiting to see what's next with a slightly raised eyebrow.Miró said:

Did the 'Gentleman Caller' snaffle the bag? Noseyparkers Enquiring minds wonder?7 -
Glad to hear people say they also don't like the barrel leg jean look. I prefer my MnS jeggings or straight legs from Crew clothing.
I do own a pair of the jersey wide leg track trousers, bought because I was going on a day trip and wanted something comfortable but smartish. They did the trick and do feel more dressy than my jeggings, so I also wear them on the odd trip out for coffee or a meal with the girls, but if I'm honest all the fabric in the legs is a bit much.
I then went and bought a pair of the wide leg jeans from Tu. Only £20 with 20% off, and they fit really nicely but they'll probably be out of fashion again by the time I wear them! There is something a bit nostalgic about them though - sort of 70s, although I do remember my older brother wearing something similar he called Oxford Bags - possibly in the 70s too. Does anyone else remember those?"Think of many things, do one"

The GC was parked outside the shop at 8.45 on Monday for the 9am opening. In the space of those 15 mins 2 other people stopped and looked at the bag so he got out of the car and barricaded himself into the doorway just in case! We only meet up at week-ends generally so I won't actually clap my peepers on it til Friday. Can't wait!!!
The students round here, well the 'cool' ones, are all wearing these hyuuge baggy type of jeans just now....all faded and worn

Didn't the Duke of Windsor wear Oxford Bags??
My trip to Otley this week produced a Boden knitted wool dress for £5.99 and a b/n smart shirt for the GC for 99p but It's the wrong size so will go on Vinted

I keep seeing a lot of young women dressing almost as I did in the 1990s. Baggy trousers or jeans with trainers.
I first typed 1900s.🤣😂2025 GOALS
