I succumbed & bought Another Frock (black with pink red & green floral sprigging) for this blinking wedding (‘semi formal garden party’ I ask you) but it’s not transparent. The lass in Barnardo’s not only sorted me an easy swap receipt but also helped me pick a fascinator that absolutely colour matches one of the colours of the floral print. (@Miró, I thought of your ruthless thoroughness & so we checked in daylight, fascinator against fabric - it's definitely a match for the pink, whereas the cream one not at all even for the wash label.)
I tried it on at home & it’s just short enough for me to walk in so long as I use the waist tie & blouse the top a bit… Still change from a tenner for frock & fascinator & I can wear it with existing black footwear. Whether I need the full slip is now more moot but the cycle shorts are definite!Trying to find the frock online I think the brand may target women of a certain (hefty) size (no complaints!) and I certainly had to overcome giraffe panic at the sheer blinding length of it but my width mops up several inches…

Yes, that's the label all right! I struggle to think this is a £175 refugee - but then the markup on clothing can be utterly ludicrous.
It may be a subbranch of Simply Be but I can't find the print there either. Intriguingly it has a row of stripes at the hem - and I was considering taking scissors to that if it was too giraffe, but while on the hangar it's terrifyingly long, on the person it follows the abundant curves & shortens tidily.10 -
Was thinking of all of you as I wandered about the chazzers today with a good friend. We resisted. I did consider taking pictures of all the lovely stuff at a new place that's opened - several Denby and Poole pottery sets. Should anyone be in Dorset - look for Ferndown, so many shops!!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Broiling hot here today which didn't stop me from popping in to my favourite BHF shop to return the dress I bought last week which proved to be distressingly short on me, would have done if I'd been 5" shorter but on me was jolly nearly indecent so back it went. While I was there I bought a little clip on rechargeable fan for £2 which I'm now using to keep cool so that was worth the trip.
It's surprisingly effective and very quick to charge too.

I always read along and marvel at your amazing finds but today I feel I can justify adding my treasure. From Oxfam a pair of beautiful gold Remonte sandals which appear to be unworn. Having done a bit of googling, I see the brand is part of Rieker and similar items were selling for £75! I paid the princely sum of £6. I’m going on holiday tomorrow to the Canaries so I’ve just managed to squash my new sandals into my case.12

Not much to report lately....just a pack of eight b/n wooden clippy skirt/trouser hangers for £2 and an enormous pack of A4 card in various forms - gold, silver, bronze, plain, patterned, embossed, marbled, hallucinogenic, (or do I mean holographic?) for £1....I just love stationery type stuff! Both from the car booty in Thirsk. Also picked up a b/n Brook Taverner shirt in an unusual cream/burgundy check for the GC.....again rejected, this time as being 'too trendy'. Was 99p from Otley. Ha!!! Sold it on for £7.509

Hello all
I'm so glad to see some familiar names again. I was one of the ones who got stuck out of the forum because of log in issues and it feels like its taken me an age to get back in here.
Well I went on my first charity shop mooch yesterday in a long time (I have suffered with agoraphobia since covid and I'm getting back into the real world) wow has my little town changed. We now have 8 charity shops - 2 brand new ones and they are huge!
I brought myself a dress for £3 which I intend to use to just potch about the house and garden and to stay nice and cool in. I also found a little crystal acorn with a separate lid for £1.50 which I think I will put matches in and add a strike pad to the bottom of the base and then gift it with a nice candle to my friend for her birthday because she loves all things woodland. There was also a leaf plate for £1.50 which looked really pretty but I'm struggling to think who to gift it to but I think once I figure out what to put with it then it will become cleared. I also got a little toothbrush holder with little bows around the edge for £1 so spent a total of £7 and she gave me a sketchers bag for life to take it all home in which I will no doubt use as a gift bag to my SIL who is a brand snob.
Time to find me again8
