@C_J - Keep looking for frames. Looks like you have knack for finding original works of art. You may become a successful art seller online!11

@C_J - thankyou so much for keeping me updated on the DVD player situation. The friend I was trying to help has found the hot weather very difficult and wasn't pleased by my efforts to help last week so I backed off a bit. However, yesterday afternoon we managed a rapprochement, so I will have another go at suggesting she visit the two shops.
Meanwhile I have had a very demanding couple of days and will never again agree to attend a committee meeting in a cafe where everyone at every other table is talking at full volume!
I managed to finish off my today's to-do list by 2pm this afternoon and promptly decided I'd earned a trip to my favourite bhf shop so here are the two books (£2 each) and the two baking tins I fell for.
The OxCrime one is a collection of crime stories written in response to an Oxfam request for contributions to a fund raising anthology and when I saw the other one I thought the Census details would be fascinating.
The lighter coloured tin at the bottom of the frame is a Wilton one so I bought it even though it's scratched because the only other Wilton tin I have is excellent quality and bakes beautifully. The darker coloured tin at the top is 24cm diameter which is a size I don't currently have so I decided it was worth £3.

Usual midweek trip to Otley and the 99p St Gemma’s Hospice shop tempted me with a white flouncy blouse and a Brook Taverner b/n shirt for the GC. (Now giggling at the thought of the GC in the blouse). Shirt was rejected cos of the double cuffs…’can’t be faffing about with cufflinks’ 😚. Anyhoo, plonked it on Vinted and sold it at a nice profit 😋

@Miró - I love the appearance of double cuffs once they're done up but do agree with the GC that they are a bit of a faff if you don't have someone to do the links for you. I love the frilly shirt and am enjoying picturing various men wearing it. Interestingly if the sleeves were longer it might go well with a dinner jacket or as part of a pirate costume."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Come back Spandau ballet, all is forgiven? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.10 -
I loved that frilly blouse. Also have 2 lovely sets of girly cufflinks but my only cufflink shirt now too frayed to be worn.
Dropped off a bag of donations and bought a lovely large glass hurricane candle holder for £3. Fear I may have added to the clutter, but, I have some sand and a couple of large pillar candles so it will be used, enjoyed and might be re-donated later.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -
I love cufflinks, but cheat & use my saddlers clamp to fasten the blighters up.
Yeah, I have some weird stuff around the house.10 -
Although my son's expression when I bought an antler horn dog chew to saw & sand into various hair toys remains a reminder that weird can be subjective. I think what he mostly objected to was me using power tools unsupervised & the smell of scorched antler. (Well, I couldn't see any way to cut through water safely.) I have an ebony & bristle hairbrush, carved bone hairpins and a ruthlessly eco friendly approach to hair toys... Horn was the medieval plastic for some things (wood, leather & dratted fiddly metalwork for others) - I don't really understand why he was surprised, raised by historians after all..10
