Thirsk car boot this afty….Mont Blanc EDT for £5, White Stuff linen shirt for £2 and a Yotam Ottolenghi cook book ‘Plenty’ for £2. Was very excited about the cook book til I got back home and realised that I already had it!!!! Off to Vinted it goes!
Now for the best bit….. I was pootling about in the jungle that I call a garden when who should pop out of the undergrowth but…….DAPHNE*, along with 15 chicks!!! (* I think it may be D) Could not believe it as there has not been any sign of a nest this year. They all tootled about quite happily for ages, was so funny watching Daffers give her chicks lessons in climbing steps. One poor chick got left behind as it couldn’t quite manage the climb so I picked it up, (ooh it was sooo cute, all soft and squirmy), and transported it back to mama. I provided snacks & a large puddle which they all splashed about in before they eventually departed through the back gate onto the lane. I watched for a while and a tractor and a couple of cars approached with me running about flapping my arms trying to get them to stop whilst the chicks made their way along. I do hope they all made it to safety! Such a lovely experience! (Sorry for the OT but I thought some might remember Daphne from last year)

Well, I’m not sure how money saving it is to blow 30 quid I haven’t really got in an afternoon at the charity shops. However, I am going to implement the one in one out rule and get rid of some of my tatty stuff, so on that basis, I don’t think I’ve done so bad.
So for my money, I’ve had a walking hat, a RAB walking top, a Next shirt and four other long sleeve tops.
My find of the day was an M&S Per Una jacket for £6.95 which I absolutely love and the photo simply doesn’t do it justice because you can’t see the gold thread running through it which jazzes it up.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

So much to read, so little time.5 -
@Miró - those chicks are lovely, so sorry to hear that two have vanished already. I'm very envious about Plenty too as that's one of the two of his books that I haven't got yet.
@elsien - I think the jacket is extremely elegant and surely you can save £30 somewhere else in the budget to make up for today's splurge.
@C_J - all that peace and quiet in the car for £10, that's a bargain. Your cardigan sounds lovely too. I'm hoping to spend a day going round the Bicester charity shops next week so any tips you have would be very welcome. I've never been there before so it's all new and exciting to me."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Everyone may need to start wearing a yellow ribbon or something so you can recognize each other in the same charity shops!7

@goldfinches Wish I could send the Plenty book to you as a gift but I know that would break the site rules re contact! 😟 It's strange.....I got my original copy from an Oxfam shop in the Cotswolds and the one I bought yesterday had an Oxfam price sticker on it too!4
