@Miró - thankyou for your very kind offer to send me Plenty but, given the explanation above, I think we shouldn't exchange addresses. Also, part of the fun for me is the looking and the triumph of finding something that's been on my wishlist for ages, so I'll stick to admiring your brilliant find from a distance while saying thankyou for your kind thought.
@C_J - thankyou for a wonderful guide to Bicester which I shall be copying onto my phone to have handy. I'm looking forward to my day out and have a list of gardening implements which would be helpful on my allotment as well as various kitchen items that I'm after so fingers crossed.6 -
P.S. I do hope Daphne and the tribe are doing well."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I can't get over how unfazed she, the chicks and Mr Daphne were by humans…..tootling about just inches from my feet for a good half hour both visits. It was a lovely experience 🐥🦆7 -
I love the family came by to say hello. what a joy.

Evening everyone, I've had the most marvellous piece of luck in the BHF shop this morning on my way home from the optician. I found The Pie Room by Calum Franklin and Pastry by Richard Bertinet as well as a book by Nick Malgieri who is an American baker with a very useful website for baking so I'm ecstatic. I also snapped up a Paul Hollywood book with regional British specialities and an Anna Del Conte book. The lot came to a measly £11 which was a bargain.
I also picked up these 3 cds for listening to and singing along with while I'm doing the washing up which were £1 each.
I think the baking books must have all been donated by the same person so I'm going to try to pop back in tomorrow to see if they've put out anything else I might be interested in snapping up.

Nice haul of books
I recently was in the local shop and found a dress and a jacket that I suspected had been donated by the same person as they were similar style and my size (I'm a size 8 which is not that common around these parts it seems) so I asked if the same person had donated anything else I might like expecting to be told to come back later/tomorrow and they let me into the stock room where I found a fabulous cardigan and another dress. I only asked because the shop staff were so lovely, and, I was glad I did.

@Watty1. Would love to see a pic if you could manage it?
Today’s trip to Otley saw me spend the outrageous sum of £2.60 on three dresses and a pair of handmade* glass, Irish Coffee glasses, (will be used for Pimms in the garden) The glasses were 20p each, as was the black jersey ‘Star’ (Julian McDonald?), midi dress - all from the 20p shop. Then in the St Gemma’s Hospice 99p shop I got a blue & white M & S midi dress and a Nutmeg midi dress in tan & cream heavy cheesecloth. Forgot to take a pic of the dresses which are now in the washer. Will do when washed & ironed if anyone interested?
* Looking at those rims and feet they don’t look hand blown to me? No idea what ‘handmade glass actually means?

Miró - I'd definitely like to see the dresses when they're out of the machine.
I agree the rims looks moulded so wonder if the handmade label refers to the handles being attached by a human operator.

Argh, I have typed this post about 3 times and lost it! Fingers crossed...
a few good finds for me today:
A pair of white linen Hobbs trousers, £12.99. Perfect for upcoming holidays!
A beautiful cream shirt with a floral pattern from a Dutch brand called Sammam. https://summumwoman.com/en
As all their shirts are over 100 euros I was delighted to get this for £6.99!
A pair of BNWT Sweaty Betty trousers for £25. RRP £125. :-) I will either keep or sell
Some silver dangly earring for an art deco-themed wedding I am off to next month for £7.99
A pair of cream pumps with a lovely spring floral pattern. The brand is Burdale, which I have not heard of, but they look good quality and unworn. £6.99. All from Save the Children bar the Sweaty Betty trousers, which were Break.6
