Today’s trip to Otley saw me spend the outrageous sum of £2.60 on three dresses and a pair of handmade* glass, Irish Coffee glasses, (will be used for Pimms in the garden) The glasses were 20p each, as was the black jersey ‘Star’ (Julian McDonald?), midi dress - all from the 20p shop. Then in the St Gemma’s Hospice 99p shop I got a blue & white M & S midi dress and a Nutmeg midi dress in tan & cream heavy cheesecloth. Forgot to take a pic of the dresses which are now in the washer. Will do when washed & ironed if anyone interested?
* Looking at those rims and feet they don’t look hand blown to me? No idea what ‘handmade glass actually means?
Miró - I'd definitely like to see the dresses when they're out of the machine.
I agree the rims looks moulded so wonder if the handmade label refers to the handles being attached by a human operator.

Here's the lovely shirt... I love the pattern and the price!7

I saw a nice pair of pink Converse trainers a few days ago in the window of the Broadway Re:Loved shop in Leigh-on-sea, but they were too big. Annoying as they were 6 and a half and I'm usually between 6 and 7!
I am going to Folkestone this weekend so I might have a quick look around the chazzers there.

@Miró - I do like the dresses, especially the blue one and agree the tie would look nice at the back.
@Magpie100 - that shirt is gorgeous, what a wonderful find.
@Wednesday2000 - what a pity about the Converse, most frustrating for you. Good luck in Folkestone.
I popped into my favourite BHF shop today on the way back from the supermarket but nothing really caught my eye so my money stayed firmly in my account; it always gives me a little glow to think of it working away earning a little interest there.
Wishing you all a lovely day tomorrow, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

@Magpie100 - regardless of brand, the shoes are cute and practical. They would go well with blue denim.
I got a pair of these yesterday for £2 - the eBay pic looks blue but they are definitely black. Part of my continued foray into the world of size 16

@Rosa_Damascena - fabulous... I love a bit of glitz!
@yorkie_cook you're a genius! I had a look, and they say 'Footglove' on the soles. So then I peeled back the label... M&S! I would never have thought. So they must be seconds. Makes no difference to me, but I am pleased to have solved the mystery with your help...8 -
@Rosa_Damascena - oh very snazzy, you'll cut quite a dash in those.
@yorkie_cook - fantastically well spotted, how clever of you to remember such a trifling detail. Are you a demon player of memory and observation games by any chance?
I've had a frantically busy and productive day so here goes.
First I called in at my favourite BHF shop and snapped up these half price BNWT St Michael straight leg trousers which say on the back of the label that they are from 1997! So those were £7.50.
Just imagine, all these years they've been sitting in someone's wardrobe and they're in perfect condition and back in style!
Then I pounced on another very similar pair of trousers for £6.50 but made from much lighter fabric for when it gets really hot here (fingers crossed) as well as a very pretty Land's End polo shirt, £5.50.
Then, on the way to my allotment I took a detour and stopped at a hospice shop where I snapped up this haul. The steamer basket was £3, the unusual size scone cutters were £1, the White Stuff jumper was £6 and the stripy sweatshirt was £5. I also snapped up two of my favourite Heyer novels in paperback for fun, 75p each, although I have both of them in e-book format already. The one you can't quite see the title of is Frederica.
I think the White Stuff jumper has been badly laundered and that, with care, I can get it looking far nicer so once I've done that it's going into the cupboard for cooler weather.
I hope you're all thriving, or at least surviving, and that you're enjoying the good weather as much as I am. Sleep well, goldfinches."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
