Some great bargains - love the Longchamps bag ❤️
I scored a Pink City Prints dress in my local hospice shop today. It was £12 but lovely quality and they retail at over £100. It’s the blue aber tulip print. Also a Lands End black cotton cardigan for £6 which will be perfect as a layer for work. Also an Oliver Bonas mug for 50p in another shop:

@C_J - I paid a visit to Banbury last year and like you was very shocked at how run down and dirty everywhere looked. I came to the conclusion that Oxford is cushioned by tourists, universities and the hospitals as well as the car plant which makes me heartily grateful I came to rest here, even if at the time I wanted to live elsewhere.
@Rosa_Damascena - your post did give me a giggle, but like you I'd have had to ask what it was too.
@Miró - very nice shoes and the rest look good too. You're not the only one with flexible principles, I found I couldn't do without my Kindle Unlimited subscription after having announced to all and sundry that I was taking my money away from those CEOs at the orangutan's inauguration. After all, will they really notice £9.49 a month?
@Working_Mum - I do like both your bags but especially the rucksack which looks eminently practical.
I'm claiming a NSD in the chazzas as I've been resisting the temptation until I've done 10 straight days at my allotment so Friday here I come! I'm trying to decide between a tour of the Headington ones, a scenic cycle out to Kidlington which was good hunting last summer, or a bus trip down to Abingdon to visit the chazzas I spotted there last week.9 -
The Gods have had their revenge upon me for compromising my principles…….
Put the red Primark frock through the washer along with a few other things and the dye ran!!! Frock now in bin…aarrgghh!6 -
^ Oh no, annoying about the dye.
I found a handbag today. I was looking for a yellow one as the weather is so nice. It was Karen Millen and I found a new pink baseball cap too.

@Miró - I love the white shoes, they were a good find! As for the dress, you weren't lining Primark's pockets, you were attempting to save toot from landfill.

So much to read, so little time.7 -
@Miró - aaargh, what a nuisance. Is this article any help? Left that red item in a white wash?
@Wednesday2000 - ooh, a new sun hat is on my list of wants too so I'm envious of your pink one.
@Rosa_Damascena - that's a good way to think about the stuff I buy although it may result in me talking myself into buying more so I shall have to have plenty of will power."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Oooooh the ever helpful @goldfinches
I went down the bleach route....(hate using it but when ya gotta ya just gotta!), except for my beloved silk pillowcase which was an elegant ivory colour but is now a pretty pale pink5 -
Some if you may recall I cordially hate dress shopping (being both plus size, & short) but that I go through with it when I have to. My goddaughter's getting married, dress code “semi formal garden party” (I asked a young leader to translate & she said “long & floral”). I squinted anxiously at my phone, (everything being modelled by giraffes) &, driving to the office, saw a “looks familiar” fabric pattern in an en route charity shop. Phoned them next day & not only was the dress still there, they’d hold it for me. Got there & it was half my size & a jumpsuit (I do not have an eye for garments) but they had other frocks (& no changing room) but were doing a “2 for a fiver” so I snagged their two largest long floral things (one George green & white jungle pattern cotton, one George somewhat terracotta Indian hippie nylon), paid my fiver happily & they both fit! The hippie thing definitely needs a full slip for decency (jungle wouldn’t suffer with one either) so now they need washing & me to find a full slip. (Odds-on will cost more but get reworn more.)Anyone who fits Zara size M should head for British Red Cross Waterfoot Rossendale at speed - there were some Glorious things there, frocks mostly but wafting trous, too. No idea how, but even I recognise the name!9

@DigForVictory
Well done for succeeding on the dress shopping. And snorked at your comment about the giraffe models.
fyi - I buy the Tesco F&F bike shorts for under dresses as essential to keep my fat thighs from chaffing. I wouldn't wear a dress (or skirt) at all without them. And if they sell ones that fit me I'm confident they'll have some for a petite waif such as yourself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. @DigForVictory - hooray for finding the dresses and heartily agree with you about models. I also think more people would enjoy shopping for clothes if there was a real choice of flattering items rather than just having to accept the few things that fit.
@Brie - I had no idea F & F sold bike shorts and I need some padded ones because the roads around here are full of potholes which can't always be avoided and my poor tailbone is bruised, so I shall look in Mr T's forthwith.
