@Watty1 : never mind the mirror, the dress is lovely! I love the colours and print but have learned from bitter experience that they don't look nice on me. Geometrical prints do though - weird, huh?
I appear to have expanded this winter, so when I went out for a walk yesterday afternoon I caved and bought 2 pairs of trousers in size 16although it was of some comfort they cost all of £1 each. I also bought another good quality laptop bag which had plenty of additional space for tech and papers, a couple of books and a Monsoon Girls case for my specs that looked not too dissimilar to this:
So I get to enjoy a floral print without actually wearing it! £7 well spent in my view.

I would be thrilled to be a 16. Or an 18!! I have been incredibly slowly losing weight so have had to put elastic into the waist band of most my trousers for fear they will fall off. I shall have a look at getting new ones down a size when I go off to Canada in 3 weeks (3 weeks!! eek!!! so much still to sort!!!)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I washed the laptop bag this morning and noted the logo as LLB's inspiration - I think that is Lawrence Llwelyn-Bowen. Can't find an image online and no idea what it would cost BN, but for £2 its a good buy (in my view). No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Had the unusual pain of driving past rows of chartity shops in Headington near the approach to the John Radcliffe hospital: many, open, but beside me my mum who had an appointment, & then a strong wish to get home....6

@DigForVictory - I was also in Headington this morning, weeding my allotment before it got too hot to be out in the sun. Sorry I missed you and hope your mother's appointment went well."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

I nearly went to Headington this morning, but opted for a trip to Bicester instead.
Younger daughter and her family are off on holibobs shortly and I always make "holiday bags" for the grandchildren in the same way I did for my daughters when they were little. These are bags (which I have sewn, and which hang over the headrest of the front seats) of little bits and bobs to keep children amused on long car journeys - magazines, small snacks and drinks, and a few little toys which can be played-with safely.
I struck gold in the chazzers I visited this morning, getting some small books, small cuddly toys, a wooden tic-tac-toe game where the blocks swivel on rods so there is nothing to get lost, a couple of toy cars, some elasticated crystal and pearl (not real!) bracelets, a new Barbie water-colouring pad with water pen, and even a Leapfrog mini laptop which my 3 year old granddaughter will absolutely love. A total of £10 spent. I also bought myself a Woolovers longline cardigan in a pretty shade of coral and an oversized white V-neck t-shirt (as a beach cover up), which were both on the clearance rails for £1 each.
Finally in the hospice warehouse I bought a brand new still sealed "Buddlets-Bot" App coding robot (£2) which my eight year old grandson will really enjoy building. I've had a look online and they seem to be American in origin, and cost around $45 new! He's recently had his birthday, so I'm tempted to put this aside for Christmas.7 -

Oh yes Brie, I'd put money on it. He has always shown great interest in and aptitude for anything engineering related. He's always been at his happiest building models and is just starting to get into coding so I'm very sure this will still be a great gift in eight months' time. Good point though - and to be fair I will most likely cave long before that and hand it over!!6
