Then, along the way with my ex I morphed into someone who lost herself bought new and was a bit of an identi-kit country woman in jeans and fleeces and boots. It is really fun to be back shopping second-hand and creating outfits that are "me" again now he is out of my life.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Magpie100 said:@Watty1 that sounds like a lovely outfit! I can't tell you how much happier I feel buying second hand. I'm not perfect, and I know I am very lucky to have the time to search and the aptitude. I think there's so much psychology behind what and how we buy, and it's shaped at a very young age. My only recent purchases have been:
a gargoyle for DD’s room
a BN metal peg basket and pegs (Mrs Hinch)
a BN Price Kensington hand painted teabag keeper
a Susan Hill book
4 knitting patterns
Not very inspiring but all very useful and total of £10.50 spent.

After the big splurge last week I restrained myself today at the Bedale Car Boot Sale and the Thirsk one….spent just a whopping 50p on a silk scarf 😁I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. @Coxy11 I must ask... a gargoyle?
@Watty1 I love the sound of your eccentric twenties! I bet you looked amazing and pleased to hear you are back to finding your clothing mojo. The other big advantage of second-hand shopping I find is that it makes me try out stuff just to see if I like it... I definitely take more risks. Of course, I assume I always look fabulous, but others may disagree!6 -

Picked up this linen mix M & S skirt yesterday in Northallerton Cancer Research shop for £6.99. No idea why really as pale pink is not my colour andI I like longer skirts. Doubt I have anything to go with it and not got a clue how to style it anyhoo! 🙄

Love the scarf @Miró
I dropped off another car load of donations to the cancer hospice warehouse today, I’m still on a massive decluttering and redecorating drive! Whilst there I had a little mooch around, and bought myself one of those Chillmax pillows (BNIB) for £1. I wasn’t sure if it would be any good or not, but I’ve got it behind my back now and it’s like leaning against a block of ice! Delighted 😀
I needed a new ceiling light shade for the dining room, and bought this for £2. Mister CJ would have HATED it, and it probably does look a bit naff with its fake crystal drops, but I like it!9 -
I’ve been a bit rubbish about posting but recent finds include
Fuschia pink suede hobo bag £20 (eek!)
Denim sundress £6.50
Blue and white striped cotton jeans style trousers £4
Rimark black pull on skirt with red and white side stripes £3
Wallis ruffled blouse £2
Sky blue Under Armour PE top£24 -
@Miró - I find that style of skirt very flattering and like the colour too, lovely for this time of year, you'll remind people of apple blossom or tulips.
@CJ - I like your shade and for only £2 if you change your mind so what!
@Potternerd - I'm very envious of your UnderArmor top, sounds lovely and just what I'm looking for to wear to yoga class.
I stopped in at the original Oxfam shop today on my way back home and snapped up this Elton John cd, £3.99, a pair of incredibly sharp angled tweezers, £1.99, some pretty christmas pegs reduced to £2.50 and this rubbish bag gadget which I've been eyeing online for a while, £2.99.

^ That is a bargain for £5.
I went into a charity shop next to my massage place this morning. There was a sign saying all women's jeans and skirts were £1. I didn't find anything until I looked on a rail where all the dresses were £5 and I bought three of them.2025 GOALS
