In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
I hope you've been enjoying wearing your new boots @Miró, us peasants have to have someone to admire you know!
I went to a talk about Fra Angelico this afternoon and on the way home I popped into the Sobell House Hospice Shop and found a Pure Collection black boyfriend cardigan which is 100% cashmere for £15! I also bought a Boden navy and white breton top with long sleeves, £7.50, a marked down vase which will be perfect for long stem lillies, £2.50 and a Dan Lepard cookbook for £3.
Then I just popped my head into the Oxfam bookshop and snapped up this intriguing sounding Margery Allingham also for £3.10 -
ooh @goldfinches I love a Margery Allingham. Lovely!
@Miró I also love a bit of Massimo. Lovely shirt. And well done on the boots... enjoy wearing them.
A few finds for me today. An orange and blue Kipling foldable tote bag. £2.79. Looks unworn, folds up neatly and has a funky monkey charm attached, to boot. Argh, can't stop thinking about Miro's boots. Anyway, it's this, but not this colour: https://www.kipling.com/uk-en/bags-c10544/hip-hurray-5-sweet-pink-blue-ki1572m1s00-999.html?utm_source=webgains&source=webgains_uk&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=187205&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAApXnqInoUYvvSoWTlC6c7jETVz4Kc&wgu=9297_187205_17454303085975_df0b5c1f08&wgexpiry=1776966308
A John Lewis gift bag for 50p (decent size, looks unused, very useful to have!).
A necklace - it has interlocking fabric rings. Quite unusual. And quite pricey at £5.99, but I like it a lot. Will see if I can do a photo
A grey Nicole Farhi t-shirt. Very plan, slightly boxy, £5.99
A white top. Sleeveless, nice heavy material. Cream, so good for this time of year. Label says 'Mint' and inside label says it is my old friend Mint Velvet. Also £5.99.

@Magpie100 - I like the look of your necklace, it strikes me as being very like the sort of things that are in the window of our local branch of Sahara."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

@goldfinches Margery Allingham is one of my favourite authors, I do like Campion as a character (Peter Davidson was fab in the 80s). If I remember right she also wrote the first acknowledge psychological
thriller.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I had a walk around Leigh-on-sea today and bought a black and white dress, a blue cardigan and I found a pet bed for £4.50. It looked brand new and like my other pet beds which cost me a lot more on Amazon so I was very happy with that.2025 GOALS

Another Allingham fan here. Yes Campion (not his real name) is wonderful fun (and his excellent taste in women!) but I have a very soft spot for Lugg. Who might want to study at Jeeves feet, whilst avoiding the gaze of Bunter.... The uniformed side in the forms of Corcoran, Oates, Luke - all distinct individuals - you're on for hours of good times with an Allingham shelf!
(The "take the characters & carry on" author is Mike Ripley but I can't speak for any of them as I only have just found they existed per Wikipedia.)6 -
Hello all, I'm enjoying the Allingham book which is based around a fictitious Balkan state that suddenly becomes valuable to the British government and all sorts of dastardly nastiness ensues. Campion is currently pretending to be the Paladin of said state and telling all and sundry that he's discovered oil there due to an earthquake which brought down half a mountain a few months ago so you can see why various people would be interested.
@florianatwobob - I had a look at her Wikipedia page and I'm not sure which of her books would be classed as a psychological one but I did have a chuckle over her having written a book called "Is Golf a Menace to Marriage?
@DigForVictory - I'm not sure about the "take the characters & carry on" idea, some of them e.g. Lord Peter Wimsey by Jill Paton Walsh ones are very good but others are dreadful and I simply can't make out what is going on with Wilbur Smith at all.
I did pop in to my favourite BHF shop yesterday but managed not to buy anything although I was quite tempted by an Oxo gravy separator jug like this, it had lost its little red bung and was quite scratched plus I rarely make gravy so I couldn't justify the expenditure.
