@Miró - the painting has dark and cool tones and whilst I like the unfussy nature of the frame. its colour draws your attention straight to the dense middle. If you have time, why not rough the plastic on the frame up with a bit of sandpaper and paint over it in silver? even if it is not block colour, it will help the lupins stand out.

Just a suggestion - others feel free to disagree!
I know there's lots of times a simple frame works well but I don't think it does in this case.  I'd suggest something bigger by at least 2 inches on each side with a matt in a pale pink or green shade.  Then a black frame will be fine.

edited to add - I don't know how big the picture is but I add matts to mine cheaply using colour construction paper from hobbycraft - £2 for an A3 pad of 30 sheets of assorted colours.
I'm not well up on all this framing malarkey :( ....by 'matt' do you mean 'mount'?  (That usually plain coloured bit between picture and the frame??  The picture is 20" x 20" by the way.

I bought a lovely portmerion tray in the local hospice  shop over the weekend and a brand new with tags M and S linen skirt, sadly the sizing label was incorrect and it was 3 sizes smaller than my other skirt also from m and s, so I am giving it to a colleague.
I've been caught out before with wrong sizing info and now carry a small tape measure in my bag so I can check that something will fit before I buy.  Saves a lot of hassle and disappointment.   :D
Thanks for the tip @YorksLass, I will do that in future
