@Potternerd - ooh that Cornishware is making me pea green with envy, you have done well. Hopefully your top won't have the same issue as mine because it is a different cut around the neck, I'm wondering if that's why mine was donated.4

I adore Cornishware. I have that very butter dish minus the lid which got broken in use. I love it. I used to have a large collection, but sadly sold most of it when we were short of cash. I have a few bits I kept back and use. I've never found any in the CS though. Fabulous find.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to frame that painting? Colour, style? Never done an oil or acrylic before and I’m a bit befuddled! Seems more complicated than a watercolour. Don’t suppose I’ll be lucky enough to find something suitable in a chazza or car boot?3

Blimey, spent the last two days, (on and off), making the Dishooms Black Dahl dish and despite not using the proper lentils or ginger paste it turned out to be bloomin’ luvverly! Well worth all the time and trouble. Will make an effort to get the proper ingredients now.And to stay OT….picked up this little M & S number in the CR shop in Northallerton today, £7.95. Doesn’t look half as frumpy in real life….honest!7

@Miro Love that Nicky Corker painting, what gorgeous colours! If it were mine, I think I’d put it in a very wide plain white frame but I guess it depends what style room you’re going to hang it in.
I am still refreshing the house so donating more than I am buying from chazzers, but I bought a small, pretty, square, white chest of three drawers (about 40cm square and the same height as a kitchen base unit). It fits exactly into a spare spot in my utility room and is now filled with various useful odds and ends which I previously didn’t know where to store. It cost me £5, and I am delighted.8 -
@Miró - 2 days is a lot of prep for a dish but it looks good! I hope you made plenty for the freezer (dhal does freeze very well, if you didn't already know). Going back a couple of decades, I shared some on a date with a non-vegetarian who declared it to taste like oxtail soup!No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.6 -
Ooops, forgot to add a big THANK YOU to @Magpie100 for the Dishoom heads up….I can quite see, and taste, what all the fuss is about!3
