My washing machine and dishwasher are plumbed in and I can use the sink from tomorrow. First WM load has just gone on - I've been wearing everything for multiple days but 4 and 5 layers at a time so have just put the last dress on. The sink was slightly 'bowed' (Mr Builder says they all seem to come like this now - they must be using thinner gauge steel) so it's been glued in place with 2 heavy bricks on top. Mr Builder says not to lose them as they are part of his block paving.
Started the day by attacking my tin store - baked beans, soup, tinned mandarins, a fruit juice sachet (the things you give children) from the fridge and took out a 3 pack of posh chicken and bacon slices from the freezer to defrost (that came from the community shop). Then I caved and ordered 2 baguettes, 2 drinks and some sweet treats.
I helped Mr Builder move the fridge freezer and freezer to different plugs (different wall) so he could put in two more units on the side wall but no worktop yet. I've done a bit of sweeping and binning (mainly DS3's stuff that was under the couch) and taken a load of paper to the bin. I was going to go and get last week's bin back but couldn't get it past Mr Builder's car (it's actually easier to take it out of the front door and ask DS3 to bring it back when he puts the brown bin out this evening). Since Mr Builder went (2 more jobs to do - he's trying to cut his hours and be semi-retired) I've been vegging a bit.
Mr Builder will be installing a bathroom elsewhere for the next two days. Think it's a 'barter' one - you do one of my jobs and I'll do one of yours - but Mr Builder should already have done it and now his friend is on his way home from his holidays. So I've 2 days on my own to sort through things at my own pace.
I've been trying to spend money. I think I need a wooly hat, more gloves (the ones DS2 bought are not for everyday use, especially not dragging bits of old kitchen to the end of the yard). One of the ones I was using the other day fell off with the weight of accumulated mud and is somewhere in the garden. I've looked at hats and gloves and warm socks and diabetic socks and slipper socks and got myself thoroughly confused. There are leggings to consider too - the pair I wore yesterday kept plummeting to my knees and I might need another jumper/ extra wooly. And then there's a red dress. I don't need a red dress but every few years I feel the need for a red dress and it's always when I feel most body confident (and this one could be worn as a nightie even if I don't wear it outside the house).
So in the end I've only ordered 2 tubes of white sealant for the bathroom, a tool to spread it with, a cheap and cheerful beanie and a cheap pair of gloves with the touch screen finger tips (because earlier in the week I was all layered up and bundled in bedclothes wearing posh (ish) mittens and dreading having to take them off to work the laptop.
Grateful for kitchen bits especially having a working sink (no having to trot outside with baled out washing up water), making inroads on my tin stash - hopefully will set up my sandwich station and toaster tomorrow but keep knocking things on the floor atm and for stopping the shopping when it started to overwhelm me.9 -

Felt very tired today, but have managed not to have a nap 😊 will go to bed a bit earlier instead.
Made a veg stir fry & rice for my packed lunches today & tomorrow, using up some slightly soft veg, took lots of almonds & some dried apricots for my pudding. Managed to eat healthily all day & then have 3 chocolates after tea. Watched a programme last night about glucose levels & health last night, which I thought was quite interesting. My fingers were itching to unwrap the chocolate before tea, but I stayed strong 💪🤣
Did a bit of my jigsaw before tea, & some knitting afterwards. Looked out a new book to read.@grandmanerd, & all your NSDs @beanielouUse it up, wear it out

I have totally lost count of NSDs, but today was definitely another one. Made bread rolls and a surprise soup that was almost a minestrone. It was supposed to be pizza tonight, but one of the midnight munchers used up the tin of tomatoes earmarked for the sauce, so had to turn the pizza dough into rolls and knock up the odds and ends soup. Also tidied up a brownie mix into a pudding. Nobody complained. Very tidy of me.
More random stuff leaving the pantry.

Good morning 🌞
I am very impressed grandmanerd - you can put your hand to anything. I hope you're making a dent in your jobs list.
Feeling the need to get back on track with my mindfulness. I let is slide last week when I felt so rubbish, and didn't go on my park walks because of the ice and snow - or the gym. It'll do me good to get out again.
Back to using up the cupboard stores. Had noodles and tuna last night. I have one last portion of chilli and rice for this evening, and soup and a sandwich for lunch. Have a few nice coffee pods to use up as a treat, and some luxury chocolate from Christmas.
Have an icky work meeting tomorrow to decided my future - but am hopeful that things will finally get sorted out once and for all.
Today I am grateful for:
1) A lovely sunny Winter's day
2) Helpful advice and guidance
3) The village where I liveNSD total = 8
Have a lovely day everyone x

Hope your work meeting goes as well as possible @abundant1972And that @grandmanerd is getting a bit of rest today. It will still be NSD #6 for me today, as we are going to a pub quiz tonight, something we do every few weeks with family members.. We aren't very good, but did come third onceHaven't done much, not feeling it today. I have eaten too much as well - too much junk left over from Christmas! Still, it won't be replaced once it has gone. I am going to do a healthy stir fry for dinner, to make up for it a bit.
