Abundant, if you ever find a commercial use for snot, please tell me! Get well soon. I'd suggest prepping your breakfast and lunch plus snacks for your return to work the evening before - fewer decisions to make in the morning.Hope your lodger's a good'un beanie.Keep warm, grandmanerd. Can Mrs Builder reach the radiator thermostat for you?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

Today I am grateful for beautiful frost on the garden, for good strong coffee, for making and icing a cake for Pip's birthday tomorrow without even licking the spoon, for educational videos on utube, for my book.

Happy birthday for tomorrow Pip 🎂
NSD
An industrious day today. Pilates done, flicked through a couple of magazines whilst eating breakfast, then wrapped up & filled the car boot with stuff for the dump. Had to get DH to tie the boot closed, as it couldn't round the old uPVC door! Cleaned the bathroom, then after dinner, me & DS1 went & dumped it all. Parked at the renewable energy centre, then took DS on a hike up a hill (Brinkies Brae) & along a route past the reservoir, then back into town. He'd never been this way before, & loved it! Managed to get back to the car in order to drive 9 miles to pick DS3 up from the bus stop.
Once home, we made hot chocolates & started to read our new books. I managed 100 pages, so close to halfway through already!
Did the ironing after tea & entered some online competitions. Aching a bit now after all my exertions!
Grateful for reaching over 10,000 steps, exploring with DS1, reading by the fire, Epsom salts, getting rid of lots of stuff 😀Use it up, wear it out

I was too tired to check in last night. I packed cube boxes, repacked some boxes (if a bigger box fit in the same space) and the box with tools and diy stuff went in as it was (not sorted). It was oblong rather than square but a couple of other bits could fit down the side. I know there isn't much left on the small couch but it is bulky.
This morning I've just been piling up more stuff on the small couch, sweeping stuff across the room and moving small furniture items in front of the couch to make a pathway for Mr Builder to have access to the gas meter (to turn it off before the cooker is disconnected). I had to ask for help to move the large couch as it got stuff. It's now facing the chimney breast so I should be warmer tonight.
Three men knocked on the front door to say they had brought my stuff. I told them to take it round the back (I had to squeeze past two trolleys, the walker and a bag of clothes to reach the door). Mr Builder had brought the kitchen sink in and gone to see where the worktop was. I was in the kitchen when the youngest man started to bring things in. I was worried as I thought they looked 'wrong' but then I realised they were the bathroom fittings. No deliveries for 3 days and then they all turn up at once.
I've taken some bits of old kitchen into the backs and taken various bags to the back gate and thrown them across to the bins - the path down the yard is clear but there's still some snow and ice in the backs (and DS3 hasn't brought the collected bins back yet)
I'm tired and hungry so I've ordered lunch. I wanted a breakfast but changed my mind when I saw the time. My knees are hurting so I might stay on the couch for a while. I've been working slowly all morning . The first time I tried to go upstairs to the bathroom I managed 3 steps before turning around and waiting another hour. When I'm thoroughly rested I'll do more sweeping, moving the couch exposed all DS3's debris.
Grateful for deliveries, Mr Builder putting my new sink in (kitchen one first) and the snow and ice mostly melting.12 -
NSD #6 for me today. I went out with DD2 this morning, but I didn't buy anythingDD stayed for lunch, which was wraps from a pack I bought before Christmas, with grated cheese, salad oddments and mayo.I did a load of washing and pegged it out on the line for a while after lunch. Even though it doesn't actually dry, it does dry a bit so long as it doesn't rain, and it is very dry at the moment, though still very cold. It is then finished off overnight on the airer. I am so over winter though!
Looking forward to seeing the sun and not being cold.
We are very fortunate though, in comparison with those poor people in Los Angeles. I have visited that area for work in the past, and it is so sad to see the devastation on the news.9 -
The snow & I've have gone 😊
It was a pleasure to drive the shorter route to work today, despite it raining heavily. Still aching from moving heavy things yesterday.
Work went ok, though felt queasy most of the morning. Got to work with one of my work besties for 45 mins, which was lovely.
Finished my book when I got he. It must be a lot of years since I'd read a whole book in 25 hours!! Super chuffed 😀
Picked DS1 up from the bus stop & did some knitting.
Grateful for warmer weather, finishing my book & it not raining when I had to drive in the dark tonightUse it up, wear it out

Good afternoon
Feeling better and on the road to recovery.
Apple... they already have a commercial use for snot - it goes into the adhesive on envelopes that you lick to seal them haha!!! I'm only ever buying envelopes with a pull off strip now i made myself feel ick 🙄😒
Having pre mid-month blues or maybe its the full moon 🌕 that absolutely demanded pizza. I looked at the usual overpriced retailers and caught myself thinking '£2.49 for a bottle of c*ke and £5.49 for a garlic bread - I don't think so!!!' and so I went to the supermarket and bought it all for well under a tenner. Ok - yes I broke my eat all you have in first rule - but I'm within budget and pleased my frugal brain kicked in.
I also purged my cupboards of rice pudding and tinned fruit - I just can't face either after being in hospital - but lucky for me - they're on the foodbank's most wanted list. Win win!!! They got donated haha. Oh - and a random tin of sardines which I also can't face. It's one of those things I buy because I know it's healthy - but I actually don't like them.
Today I am grateful for:
1) The food bank
2) An end to coughing
3) Ice-free pavementsNSD total = 7
Have an awesome day! x

Shopping day today, so still on NSD #6. Spent more than I had hoped, even though my list wasn't a big one. I was surprised to see that some of the things on my list are cheaper in W@itrose than in L*dl
Glad I didn't succumb to the outrageous 'special' price of the instant coffee that I buy when I first saw it! Bought a couple of jars in W@itrose for more than £1 less per jar.
Cleaned the bathroom, then listed a few more things on FB marketplace. I actually sold something today that had been on for ages. Accepted an offer, and then 3 more people asked for itAnyway, it has gone now. I got more than I had paid for it, and the buyer was pleased, so all good. It is a bit rubbish for selling, but costs nothing and no posting involved. I don't mind if things sit on there for ages.
Lunch was leftovers from last night's stuffed potato skins, perfectly ok reheated in the microwave. I had salad bits with mine. Dinner will be a chicken from the freezer, roasted with roast veg, the remains of a cauliflower and red cabbage from the freezer. There will be enough chicken left over for at least 2 more meals for the two of us.Also made a rice pudding to use up last week's cream.I treated myself to a bunch of daffodils and some potted hyacinth bulbs. Potted the bulbs in more attractive containers. Looking forward to seeing the flowers. I have pink and white ones, the pink in a lovely copper pot (might put this one in my sales unit) and the white ones in a brass bowl painted black on the outside. They will look stunningAny I keep will be transplanted outside after flowering so that I can enjoy them in the garden in future years.
Grateful today for spring flowers, even though it isn't spring yet6 -
Nsd #8 yesterday and nsd #9 today. It was still pretty much light today at 4:30 which made me smile. I’m now sitting having a lovely hot chocolate left over from Christmas which has put a big smile on my face.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #826
