NSD #5 for me today. Was at work, no opportunity to spend and nothing I needed. It was cold though! It was lovely to come back to a warm house (OH had lit the stove) so I was very grateful for that!7

Less snow today, but more ice. Didn't do yoga, but had a go at 10 mins of Pilates instead. DS3's usual lift to work is ill, so he'd planned to go in by bus. The first bus never came, but luckily the next one did, or he'd have been even later getting a lift partway with me!
A good day at work. Glad it is Friday & have got the first week back, done & dusted! Booked the car in for its MOT next month & sorted out my training from last night, so 2 frogs sorted.
Friday is my night, so watched the first 3 episodes of the new series of a programme I like, & did quite a bit of knitting. Helped by chocolate & a pint of Snowball 🙊🤣
Grateful for the smell of playdough taking me back to my childhood, that DS3 was able to catch a bus, Friday night fun night, good musicUse it up, wear it out

Snowball - I remember that! My mum used to like it, but I could never get past the colour. I didn't know it came in pints rather than thimble sized glasses thoughToday I hope it will be NSD #5. It will be unless my GCs need something specific for lunch that I don't haveI have just put a lemon meringue pie in the oven (leftover pastry blind baked, some HM lemon curd that needs using topped with beaten egg white and sugar). I now have leftover egg yolks! Honestly, I ought to write a book on leftoversI have a load of washing just finished, and am psyching myself up to go out in the cold to peg it on the line brrrr! So fed up of the cold! Still, it looks to be sunny, so it might dry a bit outside before it needs to go on the airer. Also need to remake the bed and look at the bread situation to see if I need to put the bread maker on, check the fridge for what else wants using up and think about dinner for tomorrow. Tonight's will be inauthentic aubergine parm, with YS aubergines, HM tomato sauce from the freezer and some of the cheese mountain. Also need to nuke some berries for next week's breakfast porridge.8

Mrs Builder messaged last night to see if the kitchen units had been delivered. They've been delayed by the snow and will come on Monday. Mr and Mrs Builder couldn't get in their car this morning. They managed it eventually and have been to measure for my shower tray and various panels - if the car will let them back in they are going on a round of suppliers ordering stuff. My mission for the weekend is to get to the gas meter (it will need to be turned off so that the oven can be disconnected safely).
The cold air has affected my chest so I'm going to snuggle a while longer.10 -

Good evening turtles, hope you all stayed warm and safe today. It was properly cold, and I was out for a bit of it.
this morning I slept in way longer than I planned. I was sleeping very well, which hasn’t happened much for the past week, and The Puppy was also happy to still be sleeping, so I stayed in bed until almost 10!OH was out helping a friend with the house, and left at 8, so it was just us. Had to do a few things before I left at 11 for my volunteering, and had to take the bus, and by the time I was ready to go it was quite late, so had to run for the bus, which was awful because then I was all sweaty in the freezing air.
did my volunteering, then waited almost 45 minutes for the bus back, as the first one was too full and didn’t even stop, and the second one was delayed. I got home feeling quite cold in the face, and I feel the nose hasn’t warmed up since.Had a nice warm dinner and dozed off already, then at 9 I woke up, took The Puppy out and then settled her for the night, put on my pijama and robe, wrapped in a fluffy blanket, and am now ready to relax and knit a bit before bed.

@DawnW I make my Friday drinks in a pint glass, to save me getting up & making an additional small glass or two 🤣
Got up at a similar time to normal & did 10 mins if Pilates. Went out to check the driveway, but didn't need to scrape it or put salt down thankfully.
When I did head to town at 9am with DS1, it was -5°C on our driveway 🤯 by the time we reached town, it was up to 1°C. Picked mum up, dropped my sewing machine off, then went to collect sewing. None this week, so can continue with my knitting 😀
Looked in a CS & bought a dress to flip, 2 sproutmas jigsaws & a thermal tshirt for DS3. Was annoyed that I'd ended up paying for 2 hours parking (only wanted 1 hour, but the machine wouldn't let me. Then next in line told me it was 1 hour free parking Jan-Apr!!)
Had dinner when I got home, put the shopping away, then sorted some things in my bedroom. Found things to donate & some to recycle/dump. DS1 said he'd finished his book, he was so chuffed (as was I), so I sat down & read the last 60 pages of mine 😀
After tea, me, DS1 & DH watched an old film together. DH had seen it before, but we hadn't. Finished knitting the head of my gonk.
Grateful for rummaging in the CS, finding birthday presents for 2 friends, finishing my book, DS finishing his & eager to start the next in the seriesUse it up, wear it out
