NSD5 today - I took out cash for the carpet fitters last week. I knew it was happening.
The carpets look fab.
Now I hurt - I moved a lot of furniture, twice.

Received a notification to say I'd sold something on Eboy, so packaged it up to post on my way tonwork.
Work not as plain sailing as earlier this week, but I was calm & dealt with the matters in hand. Chatted with a teacher after school.
Nipped to the Coop on my way home, planned spends only plus fizzy water for DS2.
Spent the evening knitting a pink gonk & watching stuff off the box. Sorted out sproutmas cards for recycling.
Grateful for finally accruing enough points to exchange for a gift voucher, Ben Fogle programmes, time to relax & knit, that the man can look at my sewing machine (& hopefully fix it!)Use it up, wear it out

Good afternoon ⛄
Another snowy day - just looking out and it's getting foggy too. Went out earlier to post something but think I'll hibernate for the rest of the day...
Thanks laura_lau for your support. I'm sure my work situation will all come together.
So I'm wondering if anyone has any good tips for making getting up early, easier. I am really struggling at the moment - and am trying to ease myself back into it ready for when I do get back to work. Anyone have any foolproof morning routines?
Another spend day today as had a £12 off £60 spend voucher so decided to stock up on all of my household items like detergent, fabric conditioner, loo rolls, dishwasher tablets - you get the idea. Put it on a card that gives me cashback too.
Had a visit from a friend, and had a laugh. Slowly getting through food. Made a veg pasta with bone broth yesterday that will make a few meals, and used up some rice and fish today.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Supportive friends
2) Seasonal weather ⛄
3) My money off voucher!NSD total = 4
Have a lovely day everyone!!!

I've had a workman here all day and now have the framework for my new bathroom and lowered ceiling. When he came I asked when it had snowed. I'd looked earlier and the ground was wet but no snow or ice so I was expecting to get more clearing done in the yard. "Ten minutes ago, just as I got here". It's 3" deep. So no outside work for me. He's been working with the back door open for part of the time - he set up his table for sawing in the backs. It was cold enough even without the door open so I'm dressed in a long sleeve tee, 3 dresses/ tunics and a jumper and my double thick fluffy socks. I was going to wash them but have reclaimed them as my poor feet were turning purple.
I've shuffled around doing bits - about 6 boxes unpacked and put away, a sack of cardboard (many boxes cut up) and one of cans. Coat and clothes hung up and I still have 4+ empty cubes and 2 empty boxes (I can sort and shuffle as I go along as some things are mixed up eg I packed pots from the dishrack so a jumble of plates bowls and cutlery). On my second cs bag (though don't know when they will leave the house). Lots more to do but I'm hurting a lot so I'm resting/ trying to have a little nap. Don't know what's for tea but I have lots of options.
Grateful for workmen who are pleasant and cheerful - he asked permission to put his radio on and apologised for singing along, easy food options (using up ood crackers) and a good book.11 -
It is half four and just getting dark enough to put the lights on. For all those Turtles who need reminding the lighter days are coming.
@abundant1972 - clothes ready the night before, and don't even think about looking at phones until you are ready to leave.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Still NSD #4 as I caved and bought sugar after work, after using my entire supply making marmalade yesterday.Nothing else spent, but I went to a local co-op and it was £1.35 for an ordinary bag of sugar
I must put it on my list for L*dl for next week so I have a spare.
Very cold at work today. I wore loads of clothes, so much so that it was a nuisance having to keep going to the loo, needed because of frequent cups of tea / coffee to keep our hands warmOH and I made cauliflower cheese pasta bake for dinner, to use up some of our cheese mountain. There will be some left for OH's lunch tomorrow. I will be working again, so will take crackers and yet more cheese.8 -
Evening turtles. Not a nsd for me as it was my niece’s birthday and we arranged to get a take away so we could all eat dinner together after work. Ordered a deal so it was cheaper. I have looked forward to it all week tho. Had birthday cake for dessert yum!@abundant1972 I am struggling with mornings this week too. It’s so dark and cold, I just don’t want to get out of bed. It’s got harder and harder this week. At least tomorrow is Friday.@f@f0xh0les I need to remind myself that it will start getting lighter every day as the dark really affects my mental well-being.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #827

Was woken at 5.30am by a cat (has a quiet miaow) wanting to get in the kitchen, but DS2 had shut the door! Had been having a vivid dream about taking DS3 to his hospital appointment, & driving down mountainside like roads in the snow & ice. Didn't nod back off again afterwards 😓
Didn't do yoga, as was busy looking on FB to see if the schools were open, roads were safe to drive on, etc. No buses running today, but still had to drive in, unfortunately. Used up some mushrooms & made a pasta with a sauce concoction for dinners today & tomorrow, listened to the local news, then went out & cleared the driveway.
The drive in was better than I'd thought it would be, thankfully. Had a good day at work. The roads were even better driving home 😊
Tried to do some online learning after tea, but wouldn't let me click on the answer I wanted. Write an email to my auntie instead & took advantage of the fragrance sale at Sup3rdru8 to order some aftershave for DH's birthday & father's Day. Managed to save the price I'd paid + half again, from the usual price.
Grateful for the roads being ok, a good day at work, it nearly being the weekend, nice compliments from a friendUse it up, wear it out

No one is coming today (very relieved as the yard is treacherous - packed down snow with last night's hard frost on top) but tomorrow both Mr and Mrs Builder are coming and they are hopeful that I might have a working sink by the end of the day.
I urgently need to cancel an appointment so have disinterred the couch looking for my phone. Someone tried to phone me yesterday and then later I heard the battery dying. It's only a phone appointment but they need me to have an x-ray first and I can't get over the doorstep let alone get to the infirmary.
I wanted to order a cooked breakfast but I think I've persuaded myself out of it. It helps that I found 4 ginger oat biscuits, 3 choc obb nobbs.2 mini rolls, 1 mars bar and nearly a whole pack of ginger nuts. I'm choosing to see this as a hopeful sign as at one time I wouldn't stop until the packet was gone, whereas these have been picked up several times, I've just eaten one or two biscuits and then put them back down, Then the end of the packet has disappeared from view, under the puzzle books, library books and assorted food stuffs I've found to eat or was keeping an eye on with a view to using up.
I persuaded myself to go upstairs to do my teeth and have a good wash. I've put on some clean leggings, a dress that comes down to my ankles and the thickest tunic I own. I'm currently draped in a throw, earlier I had a pair of joggers over my head and covering my ears. (I'd give in and finally turn the heating on but there's another couch with a donkey load of stuff in front of the radiator and I can't get at the thermostat.
It took me a while to get warm enough to climb the stairs as I was frozen after going to the back door in search of hopeful signs (there were none) The cold was solid as a wall (or the paving stones). I have been back since and sprinkled salt on the nearest bit and there is a weak sun, doing it's best
Grateful for unwrapping the kitchen rolls yesterday - I knocked a can of coke onto the floor getting to the door for one of their parcels, grateful for finding the partner sock I was looking for yesterday and having lots of easy food (will need to go through the fridge again at some point and see what is still edible (it's not really salad weather) and what can't be used with a microwave. I have a collection of tins on the shelf over the microwave and I've added several pyrex dishes and microwavable bowls. Going to get my feet warm now, then sort the couch properly (I have little piles to put in various recycling bag (can't get outside with them yet) and books of various classes (just renewed all but one library book - think I've read more than half of the ones I borrowed but don't want them to mix with the cs donations)10 -
Good afternoon ⛄
Well, am full of a cold, coughing and sneezing - so I'm staying well wrapped up today. Felt a little lost with myself today - no real get up and go to do much at all.
Still ploughing through food cupboard supplies - with a good few weeks' worth still to go. Soup and a sandwich for lunch, and might make pasta/broth again for later.
Thanks everyone for the getting up early tips!
Today I am grateful for:
1) My good friend I chatted to today
2) Shelter and warmth
3) Peace and quietNSD total = 5
Enjoy your day everyone!!! x
