I've lost 5 stone in total and know for a fact that I'm not putting out more calories than I eat due to numerous injuries.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin4 -
A STS for me this week, it doesn't help that I unearthed my snacks containers filled with 100 calories or less snacks and worked my way through them 😣 it's best not to have them in the house! No tonic in the house so i bypassed the emergency gin!Diets or healthy eating plans whatever you want to call them, I don't think it's one size fits all, so many variables including inherited ones to throw in the mix. If we are lucky we find the one that works for us,Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7

Hi
Last week’s 2 😈😈 got missed from the chart @Brambling and for this week it’s a STS please.
I’m quite surprised with the STS (a loss of 0.4lbs so just short of declaring a half pound) as that came off the day after pancakes and 3 vodka soda limes. I find weighing daily fascinating, it often makes no sense. There was another impromptu meal out with a large glass of wine this week as well as pancake day. I do find socialising is a struggle not to spiral.
This week I’ve decided to give up alcohol and my once a week milk chocolate for the next 6 weeks and increase exercise. The daily dark choc sq is staying. I’ve no social plans in the diary until then and I just need to knock all this impromptu stuff on the head. I’m feeling rather motivated to do this.
I’m not familiar with the human body diet. I followed the Human Being Diet last year until I went on holiday in October, then extended sickness and festive season happened. Previous to that I was doing the Fast8OO. I increased my calories and portion size with the HBD and lost roughly the same amount as on F8OO. I feel much better on the HBD and it fits my lifestyle better than F800 and a lot of the principles stuck even when I was too sick to do it properly and over the festive season. I do have to stick to a quite strict phase 3 to lose weight though. That and the F800 are the only plans I’ve found where I have lost weight now I’m menopausal.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

Good morning. I've ummmm.......lost 3 lbs this week please Brambling. Probably due to being out in the garden more. Not moving around I hasten to add but just standing still chopping down ivy then carrying one black bag full to the bin each day. It's a boring (and never ending) job but it means less snack time in the house. If it stays dry today I may push the boat out and cut the grass.
My doctor told me years ago that what you eat is way more important than exercise when you are trying to lose weight. I used to run for fun and honestly it made me fit but it didn't make me skinny. It just made me hungry.5 -

Hinchandrossi - have you lost those 5 stones by eating the same number of calories as you did before or did your calorie intake reduce and your activity fall to match?
Different people lose weight in different ways. My path to my current 21.1 BMI began with Paul McKenna's "I Can Make You Thin" (book and CD) about 10 years ago.6 -

@General_Grant, think you put this to me re the loss.
A few things, portion control, no bread, some fasting, only eating if hungry and only setting a 5% loss as a target, as I find if I set say 2lb a week, it isn't going to happen. Bread and portion control are the main ones for me, because of my build and height the number of calories we are supposed to eat will never work for me, it's too much, (even when I used to do 2 hours at the gym), a full sandwich would be too much, half would be ok.
I once lost a lot of weight, 24 to 8 waist, I did exercise all the way through light at first, I increased it when I was at a weight where it would not shift without exercise or do a Marjory Dawes and eat dust.
Exercise should always be done, but I think the amount depends on how much you have to lose, 1 / 2 stone or holiday ready then yes, long term with more to lose then get eating habits sorted, when you lose more, you will feel more active, then keep it up for good health.
I have done Paul McKenna and think he's great, I still practice some of the things he suggests.
Ultimately, I think the best thing is never to go on a diet or put a child on one.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538
