Did you have a lot of success with SW, Suffolksue? I did WW for a time, and had a good loss, but I couldn’t get back into it when I went back.5

That’s my problem too ,Black_Saturn .
I had great success the first couple of time ,but it’s harder now .
Its all common sense and really just healthy eating ,it’s infuriating as I know what I need to do ,but need to get my head in the right place and just do it
I’ve regained at least 2 of the 3 stone I lost .

Morning
Well done for those with losses and keep pushing for those struggling a little. I also have done WW and SW in the past with success originally but it crept back on and later attempts with the clubs weren't so successful. I think each method that I've tried over the years has taught me something in combination that is useful to take away.
Food today:
2x Crumpets topped with honey yoghurt & prunes
Jacket potato with cheese, salad and mayo dressing
Snacks - Apples and satsumas

I've never tried WW or SW, but I do know calorie counting works for me. Over the years I've lost weight on the Carol V detox diet, Slimf*st and shake diets, lower carb etc, and just calorie counting. They are all a form of calorie restriction really!
It all creeps back on because I enjoy the extras - booze, crisps, cheese and biscuits and snacks. I'm short, so any extra cals above my daily maintenance cals (around 1400cals - so low 😭) goes straight on the scales unless I move enough to burn them off. If I strictly log cals each day I can maintain and enjoy the nice things, but living like that all the time is not enjoyable.
Don't know what the solution is really. I'm stuck in a cycle of 'behaving' and losing weight, and relaxing a bit and it all going back on, so I think 'what's the point'!!!
I do need to keep my weight down though. I feel better, look better and am more healthy, which is important to me as I hurtle towards menopause. It'll be even harder to control then :-( Urgh!!6 -
I work with dietitians on our team at work so I asked for help! They've suggested tracking R, K, O days. So R is a reducing days such as 500 below your maintenance number of calories (or whatever your target amount is) plus some exercise. K is keep the same days, you either do the 500 less calories but no exercise or exercise but eat a bit more and O is off plan when you don't watch calories or exercise.
Idea is to have the most days as R, some as K and very few as O. So far I'm finding it helpful to think of it in this way.Weight loss goal 6/7lbs for first quarter

That’s interesting Bella_Budget I like the sound of that method and think it will be helpful for me, thanks for sharing.Like Pixie_Cosmo I’m short and my maintenance calories are 1385 a day so already low before reducing for weight-loss. I’m well into menopause now and it’s much more difficult than before. A 500 cal deficit takes me to 885. I have had initial success on the Fast8OO previously but cannot maintain all the tracking and it’s back on when I increase carbs and cals after the initial 12 weeks.I did portion control last year and a smaller deficit and managed much better and stuck at it longer with less counting and tracking and I’m gearing up to follow that again and will incorporate R,K,O days as well.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025

@Bella_Budget that does sound interesting! I have friends who have done well on the 5:2 diet but I don't know if that would suit me - I get hungry/hangry!! I am tempted to try it.
@Gingerlily yep, my partner gave up chocolate and dropped 1/2 stone within a month! Gutting! I think I struggle to keep going - it takes so long after the initial weight loss and so much effort. 800 cals a day is hardly anything to eat :-( oh well.5 -
Sending you condolences, @black-saturn
STS this week, but have been sugar and (mainly) processed foods free for last 8 days so am cutting myself some slack.#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000
