@Brambling Unfortunately I have to say +1lb this week. Not sure why really. Delayed my weigh in until today and ate very little yesterday but it made no difference.5

@[Deleted User] don't beat yourself up - I read up about emotional eating before I tried to lose weight so that I could have my knees fixed. When you're stressed it's the chewing actionthat your body wants not neccessarily the food. if you google "chewing can help with stress" there's quite a bit of info.

My personal situation is, if not exactly complicated, very stressful and anxiety filled for me and there probably will not be a good outcome. I could say more but I've tried counselling, mens groups etc and I get the feeling everyone there thought I was mad.
Its true that food is a constant in my life where not much else is - but (imo) it is more of an 'oh who cares if I'm fat' reaction more than an emotional comfort blanket, especially as I usually feel physically dreadful afterwards.
And I'll confess to not chewing enough, I eat so quickly which I know is not at all healthy.
But I'm getting towards the biggest I've ever been (not there yet thankfully) so I need to turn things around, it won't make a jot of difference to the problem I'm (someone else) is struggling with but being even heavier doesn't help anything.
Thanks again.

Thank you for you WIs Lilian I think a 1/2 on is good after a trip to Denmark 🙂 SSue I also only loss a 1/2lb my reaction was probably the same as yours 🙂 forthose who gained just remember new week fresh start 🙂
Hinch I always think emotional eating is not so much an emotional blanket but a way of dealing with feelings rather than eating because I'm hungry, not just bad feeling but good as well. When I was made redundant a few years ago I came home and stuffed my face through tears. Mouth hunger is another thing eating not because you're hungry but just for something to do, food and the process of eating can definitely be self soothing
I had a last minute appointment at the MSk department this morning where it was confirmed I need my hip replaced, I'm being referred so need to take the diet more seriously before the opLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin7 -

Good morning,
Weigh in day and 1 lb off for me thanks. I'm happy with that as my weight loss is an ongoing thing rather than a new start.
@[Deleted User] you deserve to be healthy. It doesn't matter what anyone else may seem to think of you. It's also hard to give up bad habits like not chewing enough but if you recognise that the chewing is what you need then maybe try and be more mindful of it, even if it's only one snack at a time. I deliberately buy things that are harder to eat - I like raw carrot chopped up because it takes ages to eat but isn't calorie dense. Sometimes it feels like my teeth need something to do rather than my body being hungry.3 -
Yes that hunger scenario sounds familiar to me,too. I'm getting better at handling feelings without food but I think it will always be a challenge for me as its ingrained from childhood.
Food today:
2x boiled eggs and fingers
Pork chop, carrot & swede mash, boiled potatoes, brusssels and shallot sauce with gravy.
Snacks - Slice of HM Seed cake with coffee, satsumas.
Still coughing like mad so I don't want to set myself off doing my chair exercises but I'm looking forward to starting them again so I'm moving more. Its hard to lose weight when you're dependent on losing it through just reducing food rather than activity, too. I can feel all my joints ceasing up with my arthritis. Glad its supposed to get warmer later this week.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £68.12/ £250

I've never known so many coughs and colds around, Brambling. They seem to just keep revolving and I don't usually catch them as I don't go out too much.
Food today:
2x weetabix
Salmon fishcakes with salad and gherkins
Snacks - Slice of HM Seed cake (gone after this) Satsumas
