I am also an historic flylady coming out of retirement- well you’d think so if you saw the state of my house!
I have cleaned round all the windows today, cleaned the kitchen, resized all the kids clothes so there isn’t anything in there that doesn’t fit and got all uniforms/PE kits ready for school. We’ve also taken some bits to the tip and the charity shop. We are getting there slowly slowly.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%

Welcome to all returners and condolences redofromstart.
I'm not sure why I'm posting other than to say Happy New Year's Eve, as yesterday was thoroughly enjoyable but unrelated to flying. Mr N, BIL and I spent the day in London (NH museum, hunting the penguin statues 'hidden' around Fleet Street, looking at street decorations and street performers then going to a music concert in a church). We hadn't booked an evening meal so went to our local Indian.
Today we went to visit friends in Hertford, from whence (?) BIL went home. Mr N and I went home via Mr T to buy smoked salmon and lilies (I love the scent) then the garden centre for birthday cards (3 this week), half price Christmas cards and anything else in the sale (half price boots for me). Came home and slobbed out in front of 'White Christmas'. Sent a load of NY e-cards.
So flying............will start tomorrow. After swimming, although by the weather forecasts that may not happen, especially as neither of my swim buddies are going. Big waves and rain on the lake don't sound enticing.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -

Happy New Year, everyone! May 2025 be a year of kindness, peace and good (or at least better) health for us all xxx
It’s good to see returning “historic” Flyfriends as well as several new faces. A big (((hug))) to redo. Take things gently for as long as you need to - even a little progress is progress.
Today I have a phonecall to make, and I am going to shred a box full of old paperwork, the equivalent of about an 8 inch pile. In the hiatuses when I need to give the shredder a break to cool down, I hope *** I intend to sort the next batch of family photos, from DS1’s birth to just before DD’s arrival.
*** Scrap that - I just opened the box and found a note inside saying "Shred Dec 2025" (in case the tax man needs the papers) so I am 12 months ahead of myself!!!!
First, though, I need another cuppa and some daylight. No vampires hereWill catch up with you all later xxx

We have DS and his family visiting today so I need to prep for that, put the travel cot up etc and DH is making lasagne for lunch which is DS's favourite.
Will also potter flying wise and take Poppet for a walk if the rain stops.
Welcome newbies and returners.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9 -

Hello and A Happy New Year to everyone 🍾🍾
👋 to all returnees and new flyladies 😄
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news Redo, take it slowly and don't push yourself hon.
Well I hope 2025 doesn't carry on as it started this morning - pup had a small poo accident and I stepped in it to let the dogs out when we all got up..lol Weirdly I caught it on the ring camera and it was literally 10 minutes after we went to bed, why he didn't ask us..bless him. One of the moggies sniffed at it after he'd done it and then ignored it..and went to bed.
Decided to have our dinner at 2pm today so we can limit our electricity usage between 4 and 7pm. It's working out that we get 16hrs of free electricity, Sundays, every Sunday all through December and January 😄
I'm going to start flying with earnest tomorrow I think 🤔

Happy New Year to you all 😘
White rabbits 🐇 🐇 🐇
Wishing you all the best of everything. I'm looking forward to another year's flying with old friends and new.
I'm up, made my bed, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, completed Connections with two lives lost, taken down the Christmas cards, read the meters, sent in the reading to BG, supped two brews and one coffee, fed the birds and put out the recycling - including the packaging from some ood hot drinks that I didn't like (contents binned) and a wipes container from the year dot (dried out contents binned). Oh. And I'm dressed, taken my meds, and turned over the calendars.
I've seen a request from a nearby bird rescue asking for gifts they can sell to help with fundraising. Must make a note or I'll forget.
Love to all
