Weekly Flylady Thread 30th December 2024

Morning all - I'm in again this week please - hoping to rejoin the flyladies on a far more regular basis!

Had a lay in this morning which was the first time I've not had to be up at 6am for over three months.  I thought I had cancelled all the alarms to allow me to snooze on but no...my laptop for some reason starting chirping at 6am - I didn't even know I'd set an alarm on it!!  Anyway switched that off and immediately went back to sleep until 9.30am. I'm sitting up in bed now waiting for DH to have his shower then I will do the same and make a start on the day.

DH turns 50 tomorrow and we have a full day of parties, which is stressing me right out as I'm not a party person at the best of times.  I also need to go and get him a card and a small present to unwrap from the boys.  Need to sort out a birthday cake too, which I will have to buy as my range cooker has gone kaputt.

Currently have 2 Shih Tzus and a black labrador staying for the next few days - the Lab is going home today actually, but the two little ones need a full groom and clip before they go home in the New Year, so I'll have to work out when that can happen.

OK, so let's do this!

Whole house cleaned, bins, hoovering, cif, toilets etc etc. boring but done.!

WM x 3 done, out on whirly tripple pegged down, very windy here, but bright and semi sunny, a vast improvement on the last few days.

Been through and sorted the baubles box while most are on the tree, dumped the damaged ones, cats have a suitable couple to play with, the rest are off to CS.

Ditto I have sorted the Christmas and brithday cards out into one place, correct card with envelope, result is approx. 100 Christmas cards (I send about 15 to 20 each year so a good few years there) 25 birthday card, so several years there as well!!

Filled up the bird seed bottle, from the main bag, I then feed from the bottle (2 ltr pop bottle) just makes it easier for me.

Morning All

Nice & sunny today, so yesterday's washing-which-can't-be-tumbled-so-was-left-overnight-in-utility-room (aka garage) is hanging outside & should be dry enough to fetch in later.

Out for a birthday lunch shortly, so minimal flying today

Info moved across to 2025 calendar. Paid tv licence. 

I was going to sort out the bottom drawer in CoD in my bedroom. I took stuff out. And put it back in again. At least I now know what's in there.

Just been up dating my spread sheet for the month / year, I'm happy with it. 2025 I'm going to try to spend even less.

OH is don't faint,   but finally sorting out his clothes, he has only been muttering about doing the sorting for about 9 months and to day for what ever reason seems to be the day! He has found stuff he had 'lost', he has chucked a load out as it is too small!, fold the rest and put neatly back into 2 draws, instead of abut 6 draws and 2 large storage plastic type boxes.

I've offered to car boot it all for 10%, but it seems he wants to drop it off at a CS tomorrow.

I'm off to sit down to recover.

Belovéd decluttered to the station for his new year trip to London so I've got until Thursday evening to do marvellous things without him standing over my shoulder saying:

'What are you doing?'

'Why are you doing that?'

'What are we having for lunch?'

'Why are you throwing that away?'

'That's really good.  Let's keep it.'

'Can you help me please?'

'If you don't want that I do, but I haven't got space to keep it so can you?'

'Can you help me with this?'

'Let's ....'

'What are we having for supper?'

'Are you going shopping?'

'Have you finished that yet?'

'What's this for?'

'When can you give me some time to discuss ...?'

Instead I have a spaniel who is aware that for two days I spent several hours in the kitchen dealing with a large turkey and she'd quite like me to stop tiddling around up here at my desk and go downstairs and do turkey things again. 

I am working on a Full On Decluttering Plan.  It might not look like work but my brain is truly engaged and I'd quite like all the interruptions to stop.

well I am very proud of you all… some excellent flying done

I am half way through border for nieces baby blanket, baby due in 10 weeks.  I’ve ironed and fetched dry washing in and sorted bunnies and binned stuff.

Morning all.  Wordle in three.

No real plans for the last day of the year but I want to change the bedding and sofa throws so usual Tuesday really.  I also need to get on with knitting DGS's pram blanket.  I would like to finish it before he's born.

Have a great day everyone.  Don't party too hard tonight.

Nice day here again, done a bit of shopping locally to keep us going until the weekend.  Minimal flying again today.....
